from Belpop:
As Oor's Pop Music Encyclopedia put it : "Ghent-based retro-rockgroup (blues, soul, funk, psychedelics) who get up from street gigs to a concert on the New Music Seminar in New York in no time."
Both the first and second album are produced by Michel - Magic Stick - Schoots (the drummer of the brilliant Dutch band Urban Dance Squad) and have international appeal.
Humo reviewed their debut album as follows : "You know us. You know that we get very cautious when you go through the roof for a pop band. You know we listen to those groups twice as carefully, we put on our sternest looks .., we hold our most objective criteria near the typewriter. To the point : Soapstone has - to our own surprise - lived through our barbaric tests and can put a sticker with "approved by Humo" on it's debut album … The beautiful "Why should we wait" could have featured on the latest Lenny Kravitz album, and the moaning voice of Tom Derie reminds us of Liam O Maonlai of Hothouse Flowers, but that is the nearest to the 90's that Soapstone comes."
