Co-ran Skull Disco with Appleblim. Shackleton’s unconventional take on big basslines and complex beats doesn’t fit into easy categories and that’s how it’s going to stay. Shackleton has been carving out his own brand of eclecticism on Skull Disco releases so far with intricate, snaking percussion, hypnotic melodies, seriously deep bass lines and wise sensibilities.

..like you could hear 'all-original sounds' in modern music. everything has been tried at least once. it's just how you arrange the chords that makes the difference.

There are a lot of possible configurations that could exist had Shackleton done something different, but I'm not sure why any of them matter. He might not have crafted every sound himself, but his palette was still carefully chosen in a way that is unique to Shackleton, and to that end I think the end result would be something distinctly his no matter what. I'd rather take the music for what it is rather than what it might have been.

The Drawbar Organ EPs are great, still to listen to Music for the Quiet Hour

Sam Shackleton could make music on a zx spectrum and it'd still sound more interesting than most artists associated with dubstep.
