Radioviolet was first conceived in the summer of 2008 by Michael Terpak. Michael was in the Richmond, VA. based band “Anti-Matter Machine” and decided to start a side project where he could record all of the extra songs he was writing. As “Anti-Matter Machine” fell apart Michael made what would one day be known as Radioviolet his primary focus.

“Just Like Yesterday” was recorded with the band’s original lineup of Michael Terpak (vocals/guitar), James Keith (bass), and Dusty Miller (drums). It was released on March 25th, 2009. After the release the transition from recording project to going out and playing shows was tough.

Michael went out in search of the best local like-minded musicians that would be ready to drop everything in a heartbeat for the music. After months of searching, using “Just Like Yesterday” as a musical resume, Michael rebuilt the band with Marshall Cantu (lead guitar), Blake Ross (keyboards), Emmett Roth (drums), and Kyle Schmitt (bass). Almost immediately they began recording their second album. They released the 3 song EP “In My Shadow” on May 8th, 2010 to give everyone a taste of the new band dynamics. Shortly after, their debut music video “In My Shadow” hit YouTube on June 30th, 2010. With buzz growing the band is currently finishing up their second album and are ready to take the world by storm.
