Biography

“MUSCLE AND HATE” is a collaboration between Sebastian R. Komor and XP8. The idea behind this project came to life while Seb was listening to some classic Nitzer Ebb tracks in his studio, shortly after he finished the production work for XP8's new album "Hrs:Min:Sec".

Already in the mixing process of "Hrs:Min:Sec" Seb couldn’t deny the fact Paul Toohill's, XP8 singer, voice had some pretty clear similarities with Douglas McCarthy's voice, which undeniably is one of the more unique voices in the electronic music scene.
So based on this revelation Seb, talked to Marco Visconti online and shared his idea of doing a tribute to Nitzer Ebb, in which Seb would to all the music and production, Paul all the lead vocals and the rest of the crew doing all kinds of agitated shouts and screams in the background. Seb also ended up doing the lead vocals for the track "Fun To Be Had". The guys decided to mention this to Torben of Infacted Recordings as they all are currently on the label with other projects . After a few mails back and forth it all was good to go: an EP with some remixes was the final goal.

Seb initiated the programming for the tracks they decided to cover; "Control I'm Here", "Let Your Body Learn", "Violent Playground", "Fun To Be Had", "Join In The Chant" and "Murderous". The chosen path was to keep the infectious and energetic power in the Nitzer Ebb tunes, but adding newer elements to it all, so it would not sound retro, but innovastive and fresh, with the good old feeling. People who've already heard the tracks claim it is the perfect mix: great vocals, furious beats and grinding bases.

After the basic programming was done in Seb's studio in Edmonton, Canada, the tracks they were sent over to XP8 in Rome, Italy via the www so they could start recording the vocals, then later sending the vocal recordings back to Seb so the fine tuning and finalization could begin. Test mixes were sent back and forth to make sure all was ok with the mixes, the tracks were also secretely tested in clubs in Canada and Italy to see the reactions of people on the dancefloor. With very good feedback the guys decided it was all good to go.
The remixers for this EP are XP8, Moonitor, Delobbo, and DJ Lee, each artist giving the tracks their own signature sound.

The whole concept behind “MUSCLE AND HATE” is basically to pay some respect to the pioneers of the EBM/Industrial scene, and also for the guys themselves having some fun in between all the madness in the world.
