Call of the Mastodon is a compilation of early songs from the heavy metal band Mastodon. It was released on February 7, 2006 by Relapse Records.

All songs on this compilation originally appeared on the band's 9 Song Demo. The songs here have had new vocals recorded by bassist Troy Sanders and guitarist Brent Hinds, replacing the vocals of the band's original vocalist Eric Saner.     Album rules, but it's too bad they reordered the songs from the demo. The original track order was cooler. Could do without the horrible loudness war remastering as well. Still a great release.

    I'm kinda enjoy this album. It's heavey but also has some melodic moments. Pretty solid compilation with soooooo badass cover. Those two faces/gods or whatever they actually are on both top sides of this cover will definitely be my tattoos in the future.
