Founded in 1999, the Lumina Vocal Ensemble brings together experienced early music performers to explore the oldest and newest periods of our choral repertoire, specialising in mediaeval, early Renaissance & Contemporary repertoire. The group includes past and present members of Adelaide Chamber Singers, Adelaide University Choral Society, Corinthian Singers, Graduate Singers, Certaine Notes and Adelaide Vocal Project. Programmes have ranged from the music of monks and medieval pilgrims, to Renaissance and Contemporary composers including Josquin, Gesualdo, Claire Maclean, Stephen Leek and Anna Pope. The name of the ensemble was chosen because of its many appropriate allusions, from mediaeval illumination, light and enlightenment to links with teaching and universities. Lumina’s main aim is to introduce listeners to music which has and will inspire us all for many years.

CDs are available through Lumina’s website.
