Helvien were formed in the west end of Glasgow after the first drunken rev of freshers week, when Brenden invited Ruaridh up to his flat for some cinnamon grahams, while discussing how awesome Iron Maiden were with him. Kai and James were then invited to the band, but only after this did Brenden discover that neither of them really liked Iron Maiden that much.
