Biography

Hassan I Sabbah was an / band that existed from around 2000-2001, featuring members of Force Fed Glass, Puritan, Prevail, and Rinse. The band released two demo tapes, a 7” on Robodog Records, a split 7” with Usurp Synapse on Electric Human Project and were featured on the Antipodes compilation 7” on Level Plane and on the Ghost In the Gears compilation CD on Iodine Recordings. Their drummer went on to play in Unearth and the singer to Otesanek.

    It's been about five years since I first discovered this band, sitting up late at night playing 'Untitled (2)' over and over again until my whole body moved in rhythm to its beat and understood it. Now I'm staying up doing a school paper, zoning out on my thoughts while playing it on repeat like those days and thinking how a group of people will never be able to come together with guitars/drums/bass/vocals and write something that just gets to me like that song does, how I always feel like the song consumes me and I still get lost in it. The only tattoo I have is a Hassan I Sabbah tattoo that I got three years ago, and though I once had my whole body mapped out, I'm starting to think how satisfied I am with having just this one be part of my body forever. Fuck it's late and there's so much to be done. The whole thing means I haven't grown up much, but whenever the 7" spins on my player, this song is dead. I know because I'm singing it too.
