Munich, Germany (2002 – present)
The band’s performances utilise chanted vocals and often employ the use of a variety of different instruments including the Celtic harp, nyckelharpa, lyres, bagpipes, Japanese taiko, cister, Pagan zither, flutes and Arabic instruments such as the dombra, rebab, riq, oud, darabukka and bendir.
Faun’s roots in medieval music, combined with their influences drawn from celtic folk, contemporary rock and Arabic rhythmic tones and fused with driving beats has gained the band a quickly-growing crowd of followers.
Faun was founded in early 2002 in Munich, Germany, and has since performed at more than four-thousand shows in a variety of locales, including festivals, medieval markets, concert halls and churches throughout Europe.

While I've always loved Faun for their mysterious style, and I do find their older albums better, I can't help but love Von Den Elben too, commercial or no. It's quite addictive :)

etwas harsch formuliert, aber ich kann ihm auch nur sehr wenig abgewinnen. Trotz der vielen Kritik scheinen die neuen Lieder jedoch ziemlich populär zu sein wenn ich mir die Charts hier so anschaue. Aber für die Fans der mittelalterlichen Lieder und Texte bleibt ja immerhin noch das Acoustic-Set. Bei dem Auftritt in Würzburg fanden lediglich die Songs Thymian und Rosmarin sowie Diese kalte Nacht Verwendung. Letzteren finde ich zudem einzig auch richtig gut gelungen!

wer das neue album als meisterwerk sieht... hat wohl ne geschmacksverirrung.. oder düdelt sich dauerhaft mit mainstream-scheiß zu. da ist doch nichts mehr echt dran.

Ich habe es mir angetan . . . Faun bei Carmen Nebel . . . Brrrr . . .Das friedhofsblonde Publikum war nicht wirklich begeistert eher etwas irritiert , hat sich wohl doch nicht gelohnt die Seele zu verkaufen .
