Outside, the storm clouds gathering
Moved silently along the dusty boulevard
Where flowers turning crane their fragile necks
So they can in turn, reach up and kiss the sky

  • @lewwatt I think both Dark Souls and DCD in general aim to evoke past and forgotten ages and share certain imagery. Both have their sublime moments, like arriving at Anor Londo or the epic crescendo in Persephone. I'm often reminded of Dark Souls (and also Bloodborne) when hearing certain Gothic elements in DCD's songs like Summoning of the Muse with its bells or The End of Words with its churchly singing. Both songs suggest churches/cathedrals, ritual and solemness, which are Gothic tropes.
  • Very Scott Walker (2)
  • The harp is very much like the music which features in Dark Souls, a game which matches the tone which Dead Can Dance often seek to establish.
  • Relaxing
  • This song always succeeds in bringing a tear to my eye. Damn emotions...

  • Eloquent
  • Another DCD classic
  • The Into the Labyrinth album is probably my favorite DCD album...love the album's cover art too!
  • Mesmerizing.
