Biography

Morris MN, United States (1999 – present)

Hailing from Morris, Minnesota, Children 18:3 started out in 1999 as a band. Today, they play hard music. The band is comprised of siblings David Hostetter (lead vocals/guitar), LeeMarie Hostetter (bass/vocals), and Seth Hostetter (drums).

Their indie debut, a 6-track EP titled Places I Don’t Want To Go, was self-released in 2004.

After a few years of trying, they finally won the music tournament at Club 3 Degrees, a premiere Christian music club in Minneapolis, in may of 2005. Almost a year later, in March of 2006, they self-released Songs of Desperation, an 8 track EP, featuring the fan favorite “The Cowboy Song.”

In early 2007 the band announced that they had signed with the Christian record label Tooth & Nail Records. The band released their first full length CD, which was self-titled, in February of 2008, under the T&N label. Three songs from “Songs of Desperation,” as well as a couple crowd favorites we recorded onto this album.

They have since released two more albums with Tooth & Nail Records:
”Rain’s ‘A Comin’”; in 2010
”On The Run”, in 2012

I think that if you have to narrow it down, punk is probably the best description. But I agree with what you're saying to some extent. They've always had certain pop feel to them - especially the second album, which was very pop. The first and third albums do have a little bit of a metal edge to them at times - not much, but it is there. Which is cool with me, since I love metal - gives their music a little bit of extra kick.

"Punk rock music with garage rock elements" in the bio is very misleading. More like pop music with metal elements. I saw them live recently, loved it, but it really was like a pop/punk band that thinks they're metal. They make it work somehow.

New album? Holy shit! I'm seriously tardy to the party, only just getting into Rain right now. Forgot about these guys after the debut, stoked to be re-discovering them
