“The Ending” is the second single off of BROCKHAMPTON’s seventh studio album, The Family. It is the second consecutive single featuring vocals only from front-man Kevin Abstract, which is a shocking departure from their usual round-robin rapping style. Kevin uses this song to drunkenly reflect on the early days of BROCKHAMPTON and their unfortunate breakup over an insanely catchy Willie Hutch – “Let Me Be The One” sample reminiscent of J Dilla’s Donuts.

On November 9, 2022, the cover art and release date were released by Kevin Abstract via Twitter.

The following day, they released a snippet of the song’s music video that shows Kevin stumbling drunkenly into a bar.

The song was released alongside an accompanying music video on November 11, 2022.
