Biography

Tokyo, Japan (2001 – 2002)

Aioria was an indies visual kei band from Tokyo, Japan, they started in June 2001 as a project of ミサ (Misa - ex-Da’vidノ使徒:aL, ex-Klein Kaiser) and the owner of the Loop Ash label, 未散 (Michiru - ex-L’yse:nore, 未散プロジェクト), they both played the guitar on Aioria, although Misa, besides of doing the majority of the guitar work, also played the keytar, did side-vocals and even played the bass sometimes when there wasn’t any bassist in the band. He also did all the programming work, aswell as being the composer of all the songs.

The other members were sarino on vocals and 大城 (Hiroki) on drums, both also ex-members of 未散プロジェクト, and initially Kazu played bass, although he only recorded the first 2 demo tapes with the band and left to join 蜉蝣.
All the bass work in studio after Kazu left was done by the old Misa bandmate REN (ex-Da’vidノ使徒:aL, Pleur), who also did support for them live.
Later bassist 和矛 (Kazutake, ex-Laissez Faire) joined as support for lives during the last days.
They got to release 4 demo tapes, a full album with newly recorded versions of the songs in the demos plus 2 new songs, and some video footage.
Aioria disbanded in August 2nd, 2002 at their 2nd oneman live.
Nowdays Misa is in バビロン, sarino in TINC, Hiroki went to D and Kazutake to ガイズファミリー.
REN is now in C4, and as for Michiru, he said he would retire from the musical scene after his work in Mask and just keep working producing bands in Loop Ash, although has recently formed a new session band called キテる!BAND

So great songs. [2] I actually adore Misa's post-Da'vid projects more than his early works...

Ah, I see, so that's why they suddenly appeared in the last Cure magazine. When I saw that, I was like, "Huh? Is this the same Aioria I came across in a copy of SHOXX from 2002?"

Long ago, in 2002. They had a 1-night revival live at an event back in 2008, and another this year, they also got together to re-record one of their old songs for a omnibus CD this year, then everything went back to normal. I don't really think they'll ever reunite again, but I wouldn't be surprised if they do these little revivals every now and then.

Sayoshigure: there isn't any drummer listed on the CD booklet. The guest drummer on the revival on March was S (from mix speakers inc) and the support drummer for sarino's solo live (where he will perform Aioria songs, most probably) is a guy called Yuzy, no clue who he is. There's chances one of them did the studio recording, maybe. Most probably this unknown Yuzy guy since S is busy with his band.

I wonder who was on drums for the revival. Since it seems Hiroki didn't participate at all...

Sarino's voice sounds more confident than when he was younger. The bass sounds really different (naturally, I believe this was actually the first time Kazutake recorded on studio with the band), there's some minor but noticeable synth arrangements changes too. The guitars sound just as good as in the old version.

news: Aioria will be participating on the new V.A. "NEO VOLTAGE" next month, with the song kousai no chinden (no clue if it's going to be the demo version, album version or a re-recording). Here's a brand-new picture of the band: http://www.blowgrow.co.jp/neovoltage/index.html
