Her use of harsh and distorted electronic sounds in Luce, Hora de Verdad, Bread and Wine, My Perfect Function and Friction deserves some serious praise. Those songs are the best and instant eargasms. On a general basis, operatic vocals are not present enough, though: soughing vocals are good for Rurutia, not for her. Hey, she comes from opera after all!

A lot of emotion in her songs, plus they're depressing as fuck, so it's awesome.

Only 272 listeners at the moment of writing!? And Yuki Kajiura more than 71000!? Even esoteric bands like Jack or Jive hit 5000 mark... What's wrong with this world?

Three things that stand out to me: 1. The fascinating use of multiple layers of vocals. 2. The drawn out, haunting endings to her songs. 3. The strange, intriguing quasi-biblical lyrics. (At least for the songs that are in English.) I've listened to her assorted works pretty much nonstop for the last year, and I keep trying to scrabble together her more obscure stuff. (Protip: Look for the album "Magic of Love" by Nobuo Fujioka and the songs "Agehachou" and "ISOTONIC" by Yuiko.)
