Description
A Norwegian rock festival is set to become one of the most exciting festivals in Scandinavia, situated in one of the most spectacular sites in Europe.
Focusing on everything from classic rock to the famous Norwegian black metal scene, the Tons of Rock Festival will take place inside the fortress walls itself, giving both the audience and the artists a unique experience.
Close to the Swedish border and overlooking the beautiful city of Halden, Fredriksten Fortress was built in 1660. Among many historic events, the most famous is the legendary Swedish King Charles XII was killed here in battle in 1718 and with him the Great Nordic war came to its end. History lives on in the fortress walls, creating a special atmosphere throughout its walls, paths, tunnels, halls and hill sides and all together making up one of the most characteristic festival sites in the whole of Europe. There will be one stage in each end of the old drill ground and one tent stage. On Huth, almost at the very top of the fortress local DIY label Tonehjulet Kräftpest will present a wide range of young local acts.
This will be a festival to remember!
