he sure did, as a matter of fact my favorite album is a solo album... as it's "Welcome To My Nightmare". I have to admit though that in general the band was more groundbreaking and I think the overall quality of those albums were top notch. His solo output however had some gems as well [2]

he sure did, as a matter of fact my favorite album is a solo album... as it's "Welcome To My Nightmare". I have to admit though that in general the band was more groundbreaking and I think the overall quality of those albums were top notch. His solo output however had some gems as well and I count Special Forces, DaDa and Hey Stoopid among those as well. Trash was more designed to score a hit album.

Don't forget stuff like Special Forces, Zipper and DaDa in early 80s, as well as later Raise Your Fist And Yell and Hey Stoopid. I consider these among his best works, sure, the original band stuff in the 70s are classic albums, but he did some pretty damn good stuff as solo too.

that's funny, but kindof true forever. however, there is no denying the all star line-up was the original alice cooper 'band'. it's like comparing ozzy's solo career to his run with sabbath or clapton and cream. yeah, they are all solid and taste is subjective but he was really changing the game in the 70s with the alice cooper band. opposed to kindof riding the glam metal wave in the 80s

I dunno man... I don't think it really matters what you start with - while Alice's work is kinda diverse across the albums he keeps his style so if you like one you're gonna like the others, and if you don't like it, you're most likely not going to like the other ones either.

i could think of six other coop albums you should start with before 'hey stoopid' and 'trash'. idk how about 'billion dollar babies' or 'killer' or 'school's out'. you know one of the albums that made him the legend he is
