Description

Soundcrash presents an incredible electronic/AV line-up representing the best independent labels around. Taking place at Camden’s glorious former theatre KOKO, the cinema-sized screen and thundering sound system will enable this staggering line-up of electronic music pioneers and rising stars to exhibit their craft to their fullest potential. This is an essential night of electronic music and audiovisual excellence in the capital’s calendar. Don’t miss it!

Tonight Clark celebrates the release of ‘Fantasm Planes’, the six track EP due for release on 3rd September. Fantasm Planes It is a counterpart to the much lauded Iradelphic LP, Clark’s best selling record to date, and features new variations on key album tracks as heard in his recent live shows. In ‘Fantasm Planes’ Clark explores the harder, more dancefloor orientated side of his work – which is bad news for KOKO’s soundsystem, but great news for everyone else!

With more than a dozen albums to their credit including six on Warp Records, Plaid’s position in the history of electronic music is assured. Still basking in the unmitigated success of their much lauded and brilliant “Scintilli” LP on Warp records in late 2011 and a sold out show at Village Underground, Plaid return to the Soundcrash stage for a performance focused on their superb audiovisual work.

Joining Clark & Plaid on the bill are some of the most exciting new producers around today: Eskmo, one time Amon Tobin collaborator, brings his genre defying live set to KOKO. Sounding like Dilla making dubstep (but much much better than that sounds) and using live sampling, Eskmo’s live show is a one of a kind spectacle, and all the better for it.

Ninja Tune label-mate Raffertie emerges from behind the turntables and mixing desk for the very first time to debut a full live show with support from a three piece band. Hoya Hoya’s Illum Sphere, described as “one of the most special and unique artists to come out of the UK” by Hyperdub’s Ikonika, will be on hand to showcase the production that helped cement Manchester as one of the beats capitals of the world and made him the second ever Brit to play at Low End Theory.

Rounding off this constellation of acts will be Ghostly International’s Shigeto whose musical universe defies and confounds genre definitions while remaining an absolute joy to experience. We can’t recommend this man’s music enough.
