I think it'd be hard to capture the same magic as that first UK gig again. This gig was totally amazing in it's own right, better than most gigs I have been to. at locations in the venue the drums did sound too loud, but I moved after the first song and the sound was alot more balanced.

Am I the only person who thought it wasn't that great compared to their first UK show at the Underworld back in 09'? Drums were too loud, vocals too soft and the guitarist fucked up several riffs (got the timing wrong). Very glad they played Kneel to the Cross though, their cover is fantastic and getting the guy from Sol Invictus to make a guest appearance was a real treat. Fen were good as usual and I was pleasantly surprised by Velnias who I hadn't heard before.

I thought the extra chords before Bloodbirds were just the last bit of Fortress I used as an extended intro for it

I thought it was: Into the Painted Grey, Falling Snow, The Watcher's Monolith, Limbs ; Fire Above, Ice Below (just the first few chords before moving to the next song), Our Fortress is Burning (I think it was a condensed version of the three parts, because they even did the noisy third part), Hallways of Enchanted Ebony, Dead Winter Days, In the Shadow of Our Pale Companion, Kneel to the Cross

Bit sad they didn't play Odal like they did on the other dates, but I am SO DAMN HAPPY they played all of In The Shadow Of Our Pale Companion at normal speed, as they sped up the middle part last time! so so amazing. Also very glad they played Falling Snow as it was missing from the 2009 setlist :) in all a totally amazing gig.

I'm pretty sure they didn't. As I remember the first portion of the set was purely alternation between Marrow and Ashes songs.

I dunno about Velnias. I couldn't quite tell when one song ended and another began. Fen were insane though, especially the drummer.

I can't be the only one to have woken up today with " Summer is a-coming and arise! Arise!" stuck in their head :-s Both Velnias and Agalloch were a joy to listen/watch.

Yeah the Scala would've been a pretty good place for it actually. Regardless, I really enjoyed Agalloch, although I wasn't too compelled by the others.

Yeah, the Underworld fucking blows - especially for a shorter guy like me, spent most of the gig looking at people's shoulders, lol. Still, everyone was great - Fen put on a good show from what I saw, but their sound was a bit weak. Velnias were fantastic though, and Agalloch were just amazing, despite the drums being too high in the mix. Really good show, but would have benefited from a better venue, the Scala, for instance.

Still not sure how I feel about them finishing with Kneel to the Cross. Can't wait either way!

God, I hope they keep the setlist the same. This looks amazing: http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/agalloch/2012/markthalle-hamburg-germany-3de1113.html

I cannot believe I am seeing this.[2] So excited, been wanting to see Agalloch for years. Checked the recent sets from the other gigs on the Marrow tour and I can say safely this is going to be an amazing gig! Really looking forward to seeing Fen again and Velnias sound like they're going to come across brilliantly in a live setting.
