Biography
Korea's first female indie-rock group, BellaMafia is already a sensation. The underground quartet has been hitting all the high notes on both the club scene and the musical stage. Consisting of group leader and drummer Kim Soo Jin, vocalist Hyun Jooni, guitarist Song Eun Wha, and bassist Lee Won Young, the group possesses an average age of 24.5, which might fool you into thinking they are just another pretty young girl band. Goo Tae Hoon, the drummer of Jaurim, first discovered the group after he was impressed by their powerful, dynamic vocals and captivating charisma at one of their street performances during the 2004 World Cup season. This gifted group of ladies then signed onto Soundholic, a famous underground culture club, and has since garnered much popularity. .
BellaMafia has extended their vast pool of talents to a critically acclaimed musical play called Bandit, contributing four of their original songs as well as giving a commanding performance on stage despite having no previous acting experience. Bringing their powerful, emotive sounds to Sori Upshi ("Without A Sound" - Track 3) and Neul Gidohae ("I Pray For You" - Track 4) in their first single release Overstep, BellaMafia hopes to inject some new energy and excitement into the current music market.
