DUDE. You have to fucking listen to the new Ghost album. I don't know why I have been procrastinating them for so long and we even saw them live! I feel like I just had something out for them but for no real reason and I think I knew I would someday actually listen to them and love them. But I am seriously blown away by this new album. I can give you a link if you like this song. The chorus at 1:35 is stuck in my head so bad. The bass just trucks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyQZ13jobIY

That's cool, maybe in time you could like it. It's not really fair though to compare it to an album you love that came out 4 years ago. Obviously it's not going to live up to that for you because albums like that have a lot of memories and time (not to mention listening time) attached to it that would take any newer album a long time to achieve... if ever. It shouldn't really be dismissed till its been actually heard on it's own merits and given time. I think it's an admirable thing that they decided to do something different lyrically after 23 years. I tend to listen to everything like its own world and don't judge based on preconceived notions or expectations. I mean I am not going to pretend I am a long time fan of Amorphis, but I apply this methodology to everything I listen too.

Dude I'm so glad you like them and that was another song I considered sending you! You're totally right. That is what really draws me to all Japanese music. They really do have their own sound and flavor that can not be heard anywhere else in the world. I know every country kind of has that, but Japan speaks to me the most in that aspect. I think I can say they show more love for the bass guitar than anywhere else. I don't know if you have ventured to a full 9mm album, but they are brilliant Like this song from Termination! =)

They are a bit more heavy at times than them, but I am so glad I know at least one person who loves 9mm! Speaking of them they literally just released a new EP March 1st and a lot of it is re-recordings of their first two EPs which are the ones you got from me! I have not heard it yet, but I want to so bad!

You're my 200th shout! I love lynch. so much it's unhealthy. I first heard about them like 3 years ago from scrobbling last.fm radio, but didn't get around to finally looking them up a few months ago. Since then I have been so crazy obsessed with them. They embody such a perfect J-Rock sound while having elements of a lot of metal. It's one of those bands I just put on and they are that type of sound I picture when I think of J-Rock/Metal. It's really hard to say, but their newest album is my favorite out of the six released. I have had to make myself branch out and not listen to it so much! But here is the first song off the new one and in my opinion is just an amazing start. His clean voice is brilliant and his screams are just wonderful. MOMENT and this song is from the same album MIRRORS. I love them so much thanks for asking about them! ^_^

Dude have you ever listened to ChthoniC? They are probably the biggest metal band from Taiwan. Seriously. WHAT. THE. FUCK. I heard of this band literally freshman year of high school and liked them, but honestly never listened to more than one song. They have always been in the back of my mind. And they recently played at The Machine Shop and I remembered them again. I finally decided to listen just yesterday. It is seriously some of the most intense shit I have ever heard. No joke. They are crazy unique because they use traditional Tawain instruments in their music and also use an erhu. Their lyrics are just as fucking intense. This is a new song for you they have gone through a lot of lineup changes they used to have a female singer as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heF_NPJbv8Y. Here is an old one that is just black metal as fuck: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXX3iQhgIjE.

Galneryus is my favorite band, but that is one example of a band with my real legit entire listening history. I started listening to Galneryus when I had an iPod/iTunes and unknowingly racked up plays till when I got a last.fm. Granted I am obsessed with them and never stop listening to them. Some bands that would have way more plays though is, like we said, Opeth. Most of all though I think I would literally have at least 15,000 plays on Linkin Park. Believe me I don't know if I ever told you the extent of my obsession for them. Dream Theater I would have at least 10,000 as well no problem. Same with Mars Volta. My most pitiful example is Agalloch. I discovered them sophomore year on myspace and listened to them so much it was unfathomable. BTBAM too, eww. Thousands. Before I had iTunes and everything. What are some of the bands you have have a crazy amount too?
