I'm in to metal... just metal... but not all of its sub-genres. I have specific taste yet I'm not narrow-minded as over a period of time (years) I've fine tuned my taste. In the past I've listened to and liked pop, dance, nu-metal etc. Metal caters for all my musical needs.

My taste in music hasn't really changed much for the past 7 years. From my charts you'll see I listen to a lot of melodic "extreme" metal bands. I'm not a fan of straight black metal but stick a bit of melody in there and it's good. I don't particularly care much for metal containing a lot of blastbeats or power metal vocals. In the last few years I've been getting in to thrash influenced metal, for example black/thrash and death/thrash and I've also gained interest in old school scandanavian death metal and bands that play in a similar style.

I was brought up mainly listening to rock including bands such as The Who, Dire Straits and early Genesis. I also listened to Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen and R.E.M.. Other influences include The Stranglers, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and Squeeze. So quite a variety going on there!
