Hello Anna, have you noticed your significant day? ... Compliments on your recent 7th LASTFM ANNIVERSARY, 4 weeks ago :-) How does it feel being here for that long? ... Let me present this music (youtube video) to you: (1) ... Wishing you all the superb music in reaching your soon-to-come 179k scrobbles, and "3000 artists scrobbled" milestones... How I came by here? ... I am reading old messages (2015) from my shoutbox ... (1): violin track, from album #1 ("violin edition (album #1)"): "The enduring notes" (with 132 beats per minute) https://www.last.fm/music/Erkan+Y%C4%B1lmaz/_/the+enduring+notes

Hey! Sorry for such a late reply, the internet got cut off! No worries, regarding the fried request. I sent about five requests to people who had similar taste, hoping to discover new music, and only you accepted, so I should be thanking you! Yeah, I'm liking last.fm, I've always been stubborn when discovering new stuff to listen to, and it helps that loads! Only started listening to Mountain Goats this year, but when you start it's often hard to stop!

Funny enough, I found your profile through the Neighbours function last night, which is pretty much the first time I've used it in a year or so. :)

Sure. Molina was often mentioned in the same breath as Kozelek. Another great songwriter. If you like RHP, you should also check out Sun Kil Moon, a continuation of Painters in all but name.

Excellent! The everlasting Mark Kozelek. Songs that are patient explorations of their own inner selves. Epic poems of devastation. Long journeys into night and whispering mornings.

Cheers, Anna. Always nice to encounter like-minded spirits of quiet cosmic adventure on the noisy plateau. Warm greetings from Ireland and Space Rock.

"This Nation's Saving Grace" is probably the best entry point, followed by "Grotesque (After The Gramme)". But really, much like Zappa, their oeuvre is so gargantuan and so diverse that any single album is a bit of a red herring with regard to their style at large. Their best work is actually The Complete Peel Sessions, but I wouldn't expect you to start with a 6 cd box set!

Thanks! I've already made a mental note to check out Archers of Loaf myself. One of those bands whose name I've known for ages but never have gotten around to listening to them yet. But if they're one of your favourite bands, chances are good I'll like them too. :)

Haha! I have an epic 'to buy' list too... Constantly adding to it. Thanks for the Superchunk recommendations. 'Slack Motherfucker' is a ridiculously catchy song. I'm definitely going listen to the albums you mentioned on Spotify. I'm currently enjoying 'Foolish'.

Hi Anna! Thanks for accepting my friend request. Definitely check out Frank Zappa's 'Freak Out!' and 'Hot Rats' and Captain Beefheart's 'Safe As Milk' and 'Trout Mask Replica'. They're the albums I started with. I see you're a Superchunk fan... I want to start listening to them. Where would I start? :)
