Nothing new to report about Fall of the Idols. They are not in a hurry to finish that album. FF is nice. I own the 7" myself.

The official ones are sold out and have been for a while afaik. If you want to buy a high quality bootleg of an In the Rectory T-shirt from Mexico (I have one of these myself) I have a contact who might help you. As for web store look no further than I Hate at Discogs. Very reasonable international shipping and plenty of doom. https://www.discogs.com/seller/I_HATE/profile

I didn't know that Maradona did that hahaha, it's really disappointing for us to see him "representing" our country. Somehow, he's the embodiment of all of us, because of the way he talks and the way he lives. Culturally, in Argentina there's a lot of decay... we're on our Kali Yuga :P. In fact, Messi is hated by a lot of people in here, and that's fucked up. We have another sport star in the world, someone who will be remembered forever because of his greatness, and most of us hate him. Sometimes i think that we don't deserve him.

Don't mention Riquelme and Palermo, because i start to cry right now :'), what a legends. Riquelme is considered the greatest idol of the club. A couple of years back, his contract ended, and there was a possibility to make him play a little bit more, maybe six months or one entire year, but Boca's president didn't want it and he let him go away. The fans of the club hate him because of this. He also fired another legend of the club, almost at the same time: Carlos Bianchi, who is the greatest argentinian football coach ever (he won two finals to Milan and one to Real Madrid, the only one in Argentina that did that). Sadly, his time as a president was coming to an end in 2015, and he won the reelection because of Carlos Tevez, another legend of the club (that you may know). He brought him back after 10 years and Carlos helped him with his campaign... politics, isn't it?. Messi is fantastic, he seems to be indeed a great person, i hope he wins the World Cup this year.

Hey man! how you doing? :). Hahaha, we're exactly in the opposite situation. We've had a terrible week full of hot weather, with temperatures rising up to 40ºC (Buenos Aires is a shitty province, full of unbearable moisture, so it's harder to survive haha). Actually today it began to give up a little bit,; storms are said to come over, so i'm thankful for that :). YEAH, i love football, i'm fan of Boca Juniors, the greatest team in Argentina, along with (in my opinion) Independiente of Avellaneda. The last final lost by Real Madrid was in 2000, when Boca won in Japan, great memories of our people man. If someone says to you that River Plate (the "enemy" of Boca in the national derby) is greater, they lie to you, and i have thousands of reasons for that :P.

About Layne having been (hope I got the grammar right) a superior vocalist to Ozzy, I can only second you on that. Heck, there's quite a wide array of rock/metal vocalists that one can consider superior as well. Even Ozzy's Sabbath vocal work was pretty much mediocre in my eyes (or ears). in retrospect I'd call Sabotage his greatest vocal showing though, but that's quite subjective. Ozzy the showman is a whole different story of course. On the matter of LP "13" even though I tend to agree with you, I still wanted to hear "God is Dead ?" live, and I would've swapped it in "After Forever" place in a heartbeat when I had the pleasure to finally catch them perform live in mid-2016. I believe "God is Dead ?" contains that tiny part of Sabbath magic (especially the riff!!!) and doesn't sound too generic in the meantime. You know it's hard to stay consistent for over 40 years and expectations had been really high before the release of the aforementioned LP also. Have you ever seen them live?

I swear 5-6 years ago I had this instance happen when after putting on AiC's Dirt in the car while traveling with my acquaintances, one of them (a lady totally unrelated to the metal scene and barely having had anything in common with the rock scene) instanly asked me if that's Ozzy Osbourne on vocals... With Mr. Iommi and Mr. Cantrell musically you could the the pattern too, no doubt. With Alice every musical aspect is more emphasized/enhanced so to speak, as you said, without losing their own touches. Jerry's versatile playing ability is nothing short of a phenomenon, I'd lasted on AiC fever literally for 2+ to 2.5+ some 9 years ago and it NEVER got much repetetive (well, eventually, but everything does sooner or later). If you asked me "Sludge Factory" studio version and "Sludge Factory" MTV version are a different songs...

Sorry for the late reply. Apparently I have time to scrobble some stuff in the background while learning yet unable to answer quickly... As AiC goes, absolutely, I've always regarded Alice as the more modern, 90s version of BS (almost like the 80s never happened, not that I have hold against it), only much more dirtier and more muddy. Like the natural progression (minus those last two softier BS records with Oz in the 70s). Whilst listening to the great "Vol4" and it's lyrics being about "snowflakes glistening on the trees" it's easy to picture a bit of druggy (just some coke, no big deal), but overall relaxed, barely-malicious atmosphere. Fast forward and then with Alice you have f.e. "Junkhead" and I can't help imagining the empty used needles all over the floor after hearing occasional glimpses of pain in Layne's angry-angel-like voice (heroin this time).

Wow, that's some seriously fucked up thing. The last thing you said is similar to Mohammed (or Mahoma, as we call it in here); he married a six years old kid (not even mentioning his activity as a general/commander of an army in order to 'restore' the 'real spiritual truths' after 'being illuminated'... sad indeed). That's one of the reasons why i am so interested in Buddha, he seemed to above all this shit. Actually i read somewhere he ran away from brahmins back in the day, because he, like Jesus, was being threatened for his teachings. I have no idea; anyways, happy new year man! i'm writing now three hours before the great celebration :).

I've been reading about this burning widow practice called sati, the one you talked before. It's amazingly strange, i don't fully get it. What's that? a woman loses her husband and she's doomed to die with him for the sake of it? or is it her intention to die along with her husband?

INDEED. Actually in my country we voted for president almost two years ago, and the guy who won (Mauricio Macri) became an instant meme. It's been a long time since i don't see such a clown in politics. It's funny because he promised like 8 or 9 things, and he didn't give a fuck about it when he became president; i guess this is a worldwide situation, except for northern countries (like Sweden, Norway, Iceland, etc) and Japan :P.

I'm aware of that, though i didn't know that Ram Mohan Boy thing. It was worse than i thought :/. Well, Buddha and Mahavira (i wonder if in school they were subjects of study, just like the Vedas) were against the casts. I always felt bad about the shudras (that's the correct name in sanskrit, right?), the slaves. All i've read about, is that there's no chance whatsoever to quit that cast, you born with it and that's it, it's not like, for instance, the Roman Empire, where you had the chance to stand up next to the emperor, if you were born a slave (just like the emperor Commodus, son of Marco Aurelio, who had slaves as friends and advisers when he got the throne) If i'm wrong, correct me please. Anyways, the idea of accumulating karma in order to be born in a higher class is... really controversial.

O hey hi! Thank you. When it comes to my username, Alice should receive half the credit, obviously. But TBH I would change it to sabbath_in_chains if given the opportunity. And yeah, I'm always glad to see another doomer out there, especially that much well-educated. Have yourself a great New Years Eve!

Are you from India? GREAT, i love your culture. Maybe you're not into the whole philosophical/religious stuff from your country and you hate every people that mention it to you (if that's the case i get it haha, no problem at all), but i fucking love the whole vedas/upanishads/vedanta/samkhya thing. I wish my country had millennial teachings like those. About the weather... yeah, it's total and utter shit. The hot weather makes me feel depressed, almost suicidal hahahaha. The good news about this year, is that tommorrow, at new year's eve, it's going to rain a lot and the temperature will go down to º14, but i don't know man...

Obsessed's Sacred is alright. A better Wino-related comeback than Saint Vitus and Lillie. Wizard Bloody Wizard is average at best but better than Time to Die. It's a band whose inspiration and creativity is very close to hitting rock bottom.

Heartless is their best album because they finally stopped trying to be a doom metal band and embraced their true nature. That's a good thing. Cross Vault is only getting worse.

Took a while to listen but I like Khemmis. Sort of. I can definitely live without those stoner/sludge influences or whatever you wanna call them, but the "doom" aspect and vocals are good.

Bro, I really liked Black Ocean Waves. Even though I've never particularly been into the southern metal sound, I do know what you're talking about a little bit. Keeping aside stoner metal, i've never really been into stoner rock as such but this band seriously makes me want to explore that genre more. This might come as a shocker to you, not being into stoner rock. Haha. Was running by your shouts when i came across a shout endorsing Wychhound. They made a good impression on me. Underground stoner music has much to offer.

Connections. Metantoine. Digital promo. Not that he will review it, but great for me. Skepticism is the best funeral doom band of all time. Their comeback is great. The growls sound weird, because live, but the rest is done all right and proper.

That's good to hear. I'll save it for later though. Had an overdose of new music this week. Need to catch up, relax and just listen to the things I've liked the most. Into Your Mind sounded good on first listen and that's all I can say at this time.

It's tame and forgettable. I don't think I will listen to it again. Earlier stuff is better but I never considered myself a fan of the band to be honest. Dig the hell out of Monolith Cult though and they seem to take cues from Goatsnake. I'm expecting their second album, but if it's a 2015 or 2016 release, I don't know.

You mean to say you never typed Shepherd into the search box before? Oh aye, a real high concept album that one. I had a similar idea before the album came out, not that I was ever going to use it. So on the seventh day he rested and on the eighth day we all died.
