It's somehow more poppy, because of the prod, but also more rock'n'roll tunes, he understood that even tho that doesn't sound best on him he needed it for live shows, and i like it that way, lots of good songs on it all along anyway, X Ray, Riverman, Lock Doors, etc.

Oh, very good idea!!! i agree :) send the concept to Noel ! after all Revolution Song got done with a fan screaming the song title over and over at a concert on his previous tour! Have you checked out the Love And Mercy trailer? i'm really into it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KD31Avb57mQ

Seeing you're putting back some Neutral Milk Hotel, do you know this band? they're from the same label, very good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjG4K9WnixM

True, i feel it fits well the album and has a nice Beatles vibe but oh well, it's not a first time, Let's All Make Believe is japanese track for SOTSOG, same with his first solo album, it has Simple Game Of Genius i think, so perfect... Yeah? Blur has great highs and other just ok moments, new single is..meh or ok on my best day, the singles they released before out of nowhere were great tho, Under The Westway and Fool's Day, especially loved that last one!

Have you heard this? the new Noel b side https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0XIwjYy5d8 pretty great imo

True! i don't know, the melody and how the song goes, i guess the Theremin solo part on this one is a reason, much like organ solos.

Yeah? don't they? i couldn't tell, but that's sad yeah, do you think the non-politically correct attitude plays with it? tbh i could never understood people making such big deals out of it, i read interviews, i agree or not with the dude, who fucking cares, he's asked qquestions and gives thoughts, as long he does good music, no matter it's Liam shitting on Radiohead or Kanye saying blablabla about Bey or Beck.

Pinkerton-
Yeah because he actually puts a work into the albul to be overall coherent, just like Dying of the light comes in naturally with the rest tho it's an older known song for example, tho not super old, but still! Ahahah i had to read that first line "Last album Stop the Clocks was so fucking breathtaking." 3 times before i understood you meant the song on his previous solo, i thought you meant like the whole Oasis compilation i was like what! but yeah i loved its final version

Mh i don't know why i tend to think Noel does it in a way like to keep touch with hardcore fans interest as in to whatever he goes with he at least keeps this old melody that someone will check out, if you see what i mean? but either way yeah i agree i mean a song is a song, it doesn't had to belong to a time, it does when it's written for you personally o when it's out for people to experience, but in the process it doesn't has to be part of the past if it didn't make it for some reason, if it was god yesterday it must be good today and tomorrow, no reason to make big deal over it, Noel is smart and Rivers really needs to get more on it, especially when you see when how good it comes out and get recieved, Prettiest Girl on Rad deluxe got bigger imo than the demo.

Majestic, mh i never thought of it that way but that's a great way to put it, i like that idea! i love how big it comes out and yet fits in everywhere, to simple pop rock tune ti bring out the chords like this one, or to sadder and mellow ambiant tones, you can even go to something very death-like with it, or on the other way make it very love ballad and sexy, or go full psychedelic or rock'n'roll, it always comes out so epic in anyway, mmh i should make a list of best songs with an organ in it, anyway talking about it i discovered this obscure 70's album proggy with lots of cool stuff going on, drum, bass, guitar and many organ solos, not crazy about the voice singing but it's overall quite a cool one only album https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUjw2RbgtKg

Ah yeah true, but still! maybe Noel would be king (!!!) when you look how things went for BE, anyway i like how this album atmosphere is quite..aerial, spacy, but still Noely simple melodic and rock songs, can't wait for the b side Revolution Song awshiiit been waiting that for YEARS, i hope he didn't take away the organ in it, i'm a sucker for organs, i can't tell why

Man now you got me thinking, damn if this is what Oasis would sound in 2015, fuck yes, and Liam on Lock all the doors, damn, so good.. but oh well

Aaaand Riverman is obviously a classic that sums up well the album's style, a good step in the past, in the present and also with new ideas, even the saxo doesn't come off sounding old or cheesy, good melodies, good songs, good vibe and sound.

Boi i was on it before you even KNEW something was happening! so far after few listens, i dig the direction, very jazzy trippy and some Pink Floydy moments, kinda like as if you could add Gas Panic or Roll It Over anywhere in there without being out of place, love the high notes very melodic bass lignes here and there, some meh moments, but then like the previous album right, he tries to rock out here more, which is good, Dying is in touch with the album and all very coherent and i feel a better production, not a surprising album but still typical great Noel effort, i like it as much as i liked the first solo album, so far, i wouldn't go crazy say it's better or DM level but definitely still got it, i dig X Ray the most and The Right Stuff was dope, wasn't that from the AA sessions? such a shame Wadayouthink?

Ah come on dude that scene on stage lasted two seconds and everyone laughed at it, Kanye himself, he even bowed over Beck

I find the overreaction to Kanye's comments in interview a bit ridiculous, like, do we really care that much?

Man, no matter how much the Jurassic Park theme can be used, it never gets old, it's just so moving and innocent.. what a true genius, along with Brian Wilson. Aw man Costello still did lots of cool stuff, i like Brutal Youth (1994, first album with Attractions since Blood And Cholocate - 1986), in 1989 Spike is really cool, some co written songs with McCartney who described him as the best collaborator he had since Lennon, the single Veronica is so good! Now going on for some good ol delta blues, anyway 2014 was a solid year in music, 2015 starts good, some nice albums here and there (Sleater, Panda, Decemberists) and already oustanding albums (John Carpenter, Björk)

Funny thing to notice: the album will start out just like the first one in the idea, a song we already know because of rehearsal acoustic bootleg that Noel is finally keeping and using to open his album but both in a more "grandiose" way than the versions we have, anyway, i'm sure the rest of the record will have gold of course, Noel's the shit! but so far, 2014 has been pretty cool year in music, very happy with it.

How so? he had a facebook event announced a week before! it HAD to be for the new album and single :D the artwork sucks and the song is very meh, a disco follow up to what a life, but i'm sure the rest is gold, awesome to see dying of the light, lock all the doors and revolution song in it, even freaky teeth! pretty excited

Yeah, the reaction of the Beatles would have been interesting to see and probably change non only their but history in general of how psychedelic music could have evolved.. anyway i don't see how it is a compilation? more on the other albums it feels like, on SMiLE it makes sens and takes it all to another level.

Dude, SMiLE is phenomenal, nothing new here, but i can't get over it after listening all those years, it's fresh because of its abmitious, its creativity will live on for ever, that's why it worked so well when it got released in 2011 tho it was recorded in 67, great promo but also, most of all, incredible music, far more deeper than Pet Sounds, not that i want to be provocative, that's just how i feel

Well you know there's a lot of people out there don't care or at least know much of the BB history and just goes with it, or some fans that just wants to see a form of the BB live, also he plays more rare songs once in a while during the sets so yeah, that gets the fans going on also, and all.. it's a matter of business in the end.

Now you got me dreamin' of a Wilson band, i'm gonna probably end up make compilations of that, they could have come up with any name but i'm sure The Wilsons would have worked, name that Brian's daugthers ended up using together.

The answer to your question is ego, add the word money to that and there you go, enough reasons to never question himself.

Pinkerton-
For sure, but if that happened (Dennis being alive) i would have rather see the Wilson brothers end up making their own band and artistic way without having to deal with Mike Love's shit.
