Hey homestar2525! We saw that you got a nice taste of music and thought that you'd maybe like our music as well. We are three girls from the forests of Sweden and we are going to record our very first album in Woodstock this summer! We would love if you checked out this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmTj6CzmAp4 ! Let us know what you think (it's much appreciated) by commenting the video, and also check out our cover of 'Kathy's Song' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44kjqZUC5PU that we got the chance to play live for Paul Simon! I'll be sure to check them (him?) out. Also, thanks for the tip about Future Islands. Also, Drake continues to and always will suck.

Still not digging the new Bon Iver. I guess I just wanted to hear For Emma, Forever Ago again. At least the Battles album is good. And the Wild Beasts album has totally grown on me.

I listened to it, and there were parts I liked, but there were too many instruments involved. The sax didn't work as well for him as it did for Deerhunter, and the final Beth/Rest is cheesy as fuck, sounds like the soft rock my mom listens to. But there were also great songs too, so I'll probably have to listen to it a few more times

pretty much agreed, the pretension of the needle drop guy just irks the shit out of me though

yeah dude as far as the doom drone sludge world goes you'd be plunging in head deep. Getting your feet wet and then coming back to that album may change your opinions on it, but I've yet to go back and give it a good listen and I don't really plan to. They are a fucking great band, and one of the best live.

Hey man I saw your comment on Harvey Milk's page. To be honest, I loathed their recent effort and I'm a huge fan of the band. You should really investigate their S/T, and the Pleaser. By far their most accessible albums.

I love Love LOVE Oasis. Really tore me up when they broke up. Their last album really sounded like they were trying again. If you haven't listened to anything, I recommend The Masterplan. It's a b-side collection, but ironically it's their best work. The first two album are classics too.

pitchfork called the song Don't Say Nuthin' "atrocious." Further proof that pitchfork sucks.

It depends on how you download/buy(if you buy it but I doubt it) his music. What I did was getting selected songs from "The Complete Savoy Sessions", "The Complete Dial Sessions" and "Bird: The Complete Charlie Parker Of Verve". If you download the whole three things you will have his full discography. And, how I could forgot this, you should get the Diz 'n Bird At Carnegie Hall without a doubt. I adore that.

I'm not an expert on him but I'm now getting into his music and gotta tell you that you shouldn't bother with albums. It's not like with some musicians who have their greatest and most remarkable stuff in albums. The album Bird & Miles will give you the best they did together(I'm not sure if it's all) but it's actually a compilation, not an album too. The live performances of those musicians are always worth but I haven't listened to a Bird one so far. The best thing you can do in my opinion is take that as a source of recommendations: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Parker_discography#Selected_compositions
