How was your first ever McFly day? Memorable I hope. I'm not too sure what the idea is behind Take That all being back on the bandwagon. Perhaps they are all giving in for good and this is their way of raking in as much money as they possibly can with a final tour and album??? Either way they're splitting it 5 ways now rather than 4. I'd think with not being able to actually ride a bike I'm more likely to fall off and have the bike land on top of me than to crash into something. That would suggest I'd have to be capable of riding it and managing to propel myself into something at speed. That seems to be quite unlikely. I've still not been to see any ice hockey, I'm not sure but I think the games at the ice rink up here are under 18s or under 16s or something along those lines. It's right next to the cinema anyway so if I got too cold or got bored then I could just go next door. Saying that though, offerings at the cinema haven't been too great as of late.

I must admit that I wasn't aware that McFly didn't exist as an entity before that link, I had a quick listen to the new song and it is terrible. Did you know that Friday is McFly day on The Chris Moyles show? He plays Star Girl every week, apparently you can't be unhappy once you hear it. Squashed hair seems a perfectly reasonable factor when it comes to choosing a profession. I think the Robbie Williams thing shows how in it for the money they are. They all hated each other not long ago. Pink Floyd are meant to be getting together again too. Strange. We have a hockey team here, I keep meaning to go see a game but never get round to it. I may try and make a point of it before the end of the year. I quite like boxing too, first watched it when I lived with 2 guys and thought it would be horrible but was totally hooked within minutes. Barry once walked into a lamp post with perfect comic timing, most amusing. I can't even ride a bike so have never managed to crash into anything.

Civil engineering = math teacher. Very random. In the same vein though, silversmithing = banking... possibly even more random. I can't think of a time when I've ever worn a hard hat but I did smack myself in the head with large lead pole that was part of a metal press one time so a hard hat would have been useful. Please tell me you are having nicer weather than up here, it's been like a monsoon today, I think the city is ready to wash away. I don't think I would have enjoyed looking after the gate today but in general I really wouldn't mind. I'd be quite happy to be paid to read the paper mostly rather than worrying that it's my responsibility to get thousands where they are meant to be. What are your thoughts on this McFly reformation? I was never that fussed by them. Also, have you seen that Robbie Williaims has recorded and album with Take That. I thought they were adamant that wouldn't happen? Shinty is quite entertaining and it satisfies my blood lust, I think I will become a fan

Err... I don't think I would like shrapnel in my face funnily enough. There is something highly sinister about robots anyways, like that creepy one that conducted a wedding in Japan last month. It's just not right. My prediction for the final was wrong, lo and behold. I think I will give up on predicting large sporting events and just stick to the shinty (the new season is only 6 months away!) What were you doing that you needed a hard hat? I have learned lots of useful skills that keep me going in the real world like... and .... .... nope, nothing useful at all. I had the best work day ever, there was a power cut on my floor and my computer profile only works on one computer on said floor. My job was to sit on a bench in the sun and man the gate and tell people coming in to sit on the floor below. Then I was to take down posters but was too short and due to health and safety wasn't allowed to stand on a chair or step ladder so just had to lurk. Why is this not my job all the time???

Germany won! I could have a career as a pundit after all, or I could give up at the hight of my skill so no one can say I was lacking in later years. I don't know if I want to take over the world right now and I think a robot capable of it might also be quite expensive. I might go listen to some Will Smith though. I have a film of his or 2 of his here but I've never watched them. In the pursuit of happiness is one, it looks a bit depressing. though I never saw I am legend, heard it was pretty bad and I've read the book so I thought I'd leave it at that. I had heard about this Bafta in fact, it was in the paper because it was a masters project between 5 of them at one of the unis here and it got nominated for a heap of things and won both of those awards and others I believe. Are you seething with jealousy that you weren't in the local paper doing a bob the builder impression? I once had a painting hanging in the museum in town because of a school thing, thats as famous as I ever got.

Croquette in the same sentence as class and mystique. Wonders will never cease. Muffie is an awesome name. I am going to get some sort of animal companion and that 's it's name, decision made. Tonight has been one for decisions, Iain and I for example have this very second decided we can't afford a man servant to do our dishes but perhaps we could get a Thai bride to share. I can't however decide what I want to listen to so thats causing some trouble. I think the opposite of false teeth is a set of pliers and no fear of pain. I, being all knowing in the land of football, greatly care about the result of this game. They have the chance here to regain some of our lost dignity. I think we got Germany from a bag too, my team are clearly not good at this sort of thing, we should give in immediately. Guess what I found out today... drum roll... Someone I know won a BAFTA this year! How amazing is that. I bumped into him in the street and asked what he's been up to. Winning awards apparently.

Craigette... like croquette... is it ok to call a kid croquette? Hollien, that's just a bit weird. If they say anything other than 0 or 2 then it means it is sentient and is ready to take over. True fact. You say simple pleasures, to this day if I'm getting ferried around in a car eating crisps it still makes me pretty happy. I can't drive so if I'm in a car I am getting ferried around, good times! Perhaps if you and Martyn get bored he could help you pull out your teeth and furnish you with cheesy balls to help you relive those glory days. Having you say there no one jumped on a bandwagon makes me kind of upset I'm not called something cool like Laquanda or Shenayney or some such thing. What's your prediction then? Or has that game already finished? I stand by my German prediction, my team in work are Germany and seeing as we aren't winning over all we can at least regain our dignity if they win this game. Algeria still suck.

Why did they pull all of them out at once? I got 9 out when I was about 10 because they wouldn't fall out and the adult teeth were trying to come in around them and it was getting a bit messy then 4 adult ones removed because there wasn't enough room, therefore I must have a pea head. 0 and 2 are in reference to how much plaque build up there is on each tooth. My dentist tells me a random fact each time. I could maybe cobble together a dental degree from it and open my own practice and then I could work one day a week too. The only other thing I could think of was The Hollies but mum would have been young when they were abut so I doubt they had much to do with it either. My birthday isn't anywhere near christmas so it is just random. I wonder how you could make a name more masculine, the answer to feminising a name seems to lie with adding ina to the end. Craigina, Martynina, Iainina. All good names, you'll agree. Not sure how to masculinise (surely that's not a word?) Julie though.

Tristen and Sebastian indeed, great friends of Tabitha the external hard drive and Poro the laptop. All computer based things are given names. It was widely agreed I was going to be a boy and that I was going to be a Paul. Mother didn't like Paula though so pulled Hollie from thin air at my birth although my gradad would swear it was after Holly Johnson (Frankie goes to Hollywood) for some unknown reason. I didn't meet another Hollie until uni, although there was a Holly in another year in high school. Was your dental visit like this http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/03/i-cant-feel-my-face.html ? I made a plan to prevent botulism, I roasted the garlic first... that'll help surely. If cooking something for an hour at 220 degrees doesn't kill spores I don't know what will. I'm sure if I get the right lawyers they could just argue that it's added bonus, the thrill of knowing if it will be your last meal or not. Burnt garlic and botulism crisps, yum yum yum.

Your music collection would fill Tristen (the ipod) just. You have the summer holidays, if you don't sleep you could get through every single song by the time term starts again. That is my challenge to you. It seems completely do-able...honest. My prediction was poor, what makes it even worse is that there is a distinct possibility that the match had finished by the time I made it. My football knowledge clearly knows no bounds. I have decided Holland will win because I have a tenuous relationship to the country and no link so Spain. I had the same dentist as usual and they did their usual. Counted my teeth (I still have the same number) asked if anything hurt and when I said no told me to go away and come back in another 6 months. She didn't even bother to record anything, just said "same". I don't know why I bother going. I have news, I've decided to make flavored oil but the food standards agency have suggested I may get botulism. Not good :s

I just don't have enough music, I have 6919 songs and it's only 1/3 full. I don't have the mental capacity to be aware of another 12000 songs to fill it without forgetting important things like how to tie shoe laces or how to walk and talk at the same time. Therefore, I have to decide which is more important, being a fully functioning human who is able to fend for herself or having a ton o' muzak in a little magic box (which I probably wouldn't be capable of working anymore anyways.) Tough choice to make. You know I think you're right, my manager might have been being spiteful, he's very short you see, so lots to be angry about. Taking it out on me by giving me Algeria makes perfect sense. I predict a German win by the way, thoughts on? If you're dad wanted to use an ipad as a tray it's as good a use for it as any really. It's not much use to man nor beast in it's current incarnation. Martyn thinks there is a conspiracy going on btw, I had the dentist today and he said you did too.

You're next step would be to get an ipad, to pretend it's a phone and that you've shrunk which has really upset/distressed/confused you. It's the only reason to actually get one at the moment obviously. I had to fight off my manager and tell him (on a near daily basis for a while) that I didn't want to do the football lottery that he runs so I gave in when it came to £2 for him to leave me alone for the whole of the world cup, it was a bargain! I don't know if you know about geography, I just didn't want you getting lost on the way to work each day. It seemed like some big changes had been made and it's unlikely they had let the locals know. It's nice that your dad would beat down on a little kid for you, shows a strong paternal instinct I think. I gave my mum my old ipod, she claims she uses it but I don't think she does. Not the most IT aware is Mother Fyffe. I'm quite content with my current pod, don't think I'll upgrade for a while and I don't think I'll ever fill it to be honest.

I didn't pick them, they were pulled out of a bag for me by my friend. Apparently I have no luck or her and the manager were conspiring against me. I think there is a prize for the worst team but I don't know if they were that either. Is the ipod working again now that it's been reintroduced to itunes? Mine had a bit of a blip earlier and claimed it was corrupted but it's happy again now so long may that last. With not being able to see the screen it sounds like you were getting to experience the joy of a shuffle (the most pointless of all the ipods). How was the trip aside from that, did all the children come back in one piece? I think I should also make you aware that some American woman on the TV the other night described Hawick as in the Highlands. I don't know where that puts me but seeing as the geography of the country seems to have changed quite significantly I'm trying to spread the word.

It is indeed free, they just turn up for a weekend and have the main festival bit plus put on loads of stuff in the local town like djs on in the clubs and stuff. You have to enter on the website to get tickets for either of the days. They had it in Bangor (north wales) this year. I don't think I ever actually made an effort to listen to the charts, I never quite got why people would bother wanting to know what had sold most each week, I am in no way shape or form competitive though so that might be part of it. Saying that, Algeria did not do well did they, boo! I do like Dario G, and I liked Tin Tin Out (I might go dig out some of their stuff now). See you shouldn't have told me about The Golden Virgins because you could have always felt smug and superior that you knew about a really good band and no one else did, you just spoiled it for yourself now.

I quite like some stuff on radio 1 but there are some DJs on it who I cannot stand and make me want to tear out my own hair. I usually get up to Chris Moyles (because of the alarm radio) who I hate to admit but I find his show quite funny although it's mostly because of the other people on his team, and even though they didn't play B*witched on Saturday they did play some Dario G so I can let them off with it I suppose. They had the Big Weekend here a couple of years ago and got tickets to the Saturday. It was really good and it had a much better line up than the Sunday did which was rather lucky. I had a listen to those two bands by the way, The Golden Virgins were good, it's a shame they split up so there is nothing new to come.

It's the Dundee University Graduation Ball tonight, hence the musical extravaganza. Having investigated further it seems only two of them will actually be there and a random person from Xfactor will be on along with a head phone disco, magician, games room, cinema, ceiled and more (it runs from 6pm till 6am). The Vengaboys were on the year of my ball and an excellent Amy Winehouse tribute act (this years tribute is Abba). Iain and I accidentally ended up in front of the stage for the Vengaboys getting squashed into the barrier. We requested C'est la vie on Radio 1 on the drive home from Edinburgh today but they didn't play it :(

It's maybe not the best idea to show it to a bus full of kid, you might get hauled up on child abuse charges. I'll have a look at those bands too and see if they are better than everybody get pumped, it won't be particularly difficult. Also I have news, and I know you'll be gutted by this, B*Witched are playing Dundee on Saturday night. True fact!

hmm, I'll try to listen to it the whole way through and let you know but from the first minute I think for now it's in the so bad it's just bad pile. Dan (yes we're on first name terms) wrote "Easy Silence" for the Dixie Chicks which as an ace song but he has a version of it which is amazing (he did other songs for them too). He's a bit different from Semisonic but not a million miles from their style (think the difference between Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service) he's completely worth a listen. His stuff is on here & youtube so thats maybe worth looking at before buying. It would highly depend on how tipsy and what songs in regards to singstar, I'm sure there are plenty of songs online worth finding though. I hear you're planning on a film night involving the DVD I sent to Martyn (cinematic delight as I referred to it in my postcard to him), it's truly terrible, best of luck with it :)

The new Miley album is pretty good. I was listening to at work on We7. I also watched the end of her film today and thought it was good. There are dance moves to Hip-hop howdown which, most likely, I'll learn and repeat at some shameful tequila laden moment. You have her other albums? I may need to borrow. Also you have singstar?! There are very cheesy songs out for that now....I suggest an emtpy orchestra night?

I listened to that SClub song on youtube and I don't think I'm going to dignify it with a response. Trip Shakespeare has the man who was the lead singer of Semisonic whos name is Dan Wilson whos solo stuff is a-may-zing (if you like Semisonic you will like him, he was the brains of the operation) who also wrote some songs for the Dixie Chicks. I've never played sing star (see dying cat parade reference) but Martyn and I did have a very good time entertaining ourselves with some maths thing on the Wii and failing miserably. I think song Bon Jovi would be necessary though so it can serve it's full potential. I went back to work today, boo :(

It's not the hand for poor people Martyn and don't pretend you don't know that. Trying to be PC and all that will not work with me young un! SClub best of, that must be a rather short album of 3 or 4 :p but saying that I can probably sing along to most of their songs without going far wrong on most of the lyrics. In comparison to you being uber cool I think I shall skulk off into a dark corner and die of uncool shortly (my mother has joined facebook and wants to be my friend...luckily I hardly use it). I have decided the latest music I need to hunt for is Trip Shakespeare as I suspect I will love them, that surely can't be too bad.

SClub ballads are very good! 'You're my number one' was a favourite of mine back in the day! (early 2000?) also, Vanessa Amorosi - Absolutly Everybody, great tidying music! Also there's a line dance but something tells me that your cheese-powers don't stretch to regimented dancing =p Hollie. Leave the A*teens alone! Or I'll get you with the hand I tough poor people with.
