Thank you for the recommendations. Share anytime. I can read in Spanish, not that good, but I understand. Interpreting is kind of like translating, but instead of doing it in writing and in a reasonable amount of time, you have to do it instantly. Someone holds a speech and you have to interpret it right then and there, in simultaneous interpretation at the same time as the speaker. It's really challenging, you need to have perfect command of all your languages, a vast general knowledge, of history, an impeccable memory, to keep updated on what's happening in the world and so on and so forth. It's actually one of the jobs with the highest burnout rates, after jobs such as firefighter, paramedic, etc. You do need to have some of the qualities a psychotherapist would I guess. I know psychology goes way beyond just psychotherapy, but I was asking because I thought about doing that once. Good luck with school and drop me a line from time to time! :)

Don't worry about it, reply whenever you can! Psychology is fascinating, it has always been an interest of mine. Are you interested in becoming a psychotherapist? I'm a student too, I am studying to become a conference interpreter, it's really challenging! A small town with a beach sounds heavenly. What do you write? Prose, poetry? I recommended some art films, some other movies that come to mind are: The game, Falling down, What dreams may come, Léon, Run lola run, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind, The hours, The virgin suicides, Panic room, Phone booth, Liberty stands still, Scent of a woman, K-PAX, anything from David Lynch, Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock, I love classic movies like Breakfast at Tiffany's and countless others. Did you manage to watch the films from Scorsese this weekend? I liked The Departed from him and the films you mentioned. I would like to hear some recommendations from you too!

Oh, I was actually asking about your favorite Mexican foods! But it’s cool to know you like diversity! :) Do you ever cook? So where in Mexico are you from? I have an online friend I’ve known for 8 years from Mexico city! Speaking of Mexican art, are you familiar with painter Frida Kahlo’s works? I really enjoy her paintings. I wanted to ask, is your username a play on Def-tones? Sharp-Ton? :) I just realized I never introduced myself, haha. My name is Camelia, it’s nice to meet you, Rafael. You have a beautiful name. I know this sounds weird, but I really like names that require using your whole mouth to pronounce, haha! You still haven’t mentioned some of the stuff that you like to do!

I’d recommend to you “The Seventh Seal” by Swedish director Ingmar Bergman. There are themes like life, death, existence of God and all the while a man playing chess with Death, it really stays with you after you’ve seen it. I can always recommend stuff to you, film is one of my greatest passions. I’ve wanted to be a film director since I was 17!

I like Iñárritu, I’ve seen “21 grams”, but not the other ones. They’re on my watchlist now that you’ve recommended them! I like Christopher Nolan too, the films you mentioned, “Insomnia” and I recently saw “Interstellar” and I loved it. Some of my all-time favorite films are: Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, Vanilla Sky. What are yours? Do you know Alejandro Amenábar? He made “Abre los ojos”, the film which inspired Vanilla Sky. Do you watch tv shows? Art films are a bit different from the films I mentioned, directors take another level to express their vision. Some of my favorite European art films are “Persona” by Ingmar Bergman, 8½ by Federico Fellini, “Blowup” by Michelangelo Antonioni and “La double vie de Véronique” by Krzysztof Kieslowski.

Speaking of art that can be enjoyed in its original language, are you familiar with film director Pedro Almodóvar? I really like his films. Two of my favorites are “Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios” and “Hable con ella”. I’ve seen the film Gone girl, I liked it, that chick was so twisted, haha. I usually read 3-4 books at once because I get bored easily. Right now I am reading a World history book, 2 books for my profession, Sputnik Sweetheart by Haruki Murakami and On the Road by Jack Kerouac. I wrote so much about myself! Tell me more about you, your interests, hobbies and passions :)

All the Mexican foods I’ve tasted, I loved! I recently learned how to make quesadillas and I really like them! What are some of your favorite foods? I am not a fan of Sartre either (I really like the writings of his life-long partner, Simone de Beauvoir though), I can’t read too much existentialist stuff because then I feel like nothing makes any sense. But I do love how existentialist themes are approached in art cinema. Are you familiar with that? I can tell you some of my favorite art films. You don’t seem ignorant to me at all! :) I mentioned Neruda because he is considered one of the greatest poets ever, and you can read the poetry in its original language! Here’s something from him I really liked these days: "I will bring you flowers from the mountains, bluebells,/dark hazels, and rustic baskets of kisses./I want to do with you/what spring does with the cherry trees.". I bet it sounds so much better in Spanish! Ha, it’s so strange writing poetry on lastfm!

Also, have you listened to the B-sides and rarities? There are some amazing covers to be heard on there! You should also listen to Chino's side project (my favorite one), Team Sleep, it just takes you off this Earth! It’s not metal, but it’s so good, and Chino’s voice is just unique. Some of my favorite songs from Team Sleep are: Ever, Ataraxia, Blvd. nights, Delorian (might be my favorite song ever), Our ride to the Rectory, Elizabeth, Death by plane, Natalie Portman. If you listen to them, tell me what you think!

I've seen them live, they came to Bucharest, it was magnificent. Let's do it like this: tell me 3 songs from each album from Deftones that you like most. I'll do the same. I am sure I won't be disappointed in Mexico, if anything, I love your spicy stuff! Romania is charming and really... unique. So are you a fan of Rilke and Sartre? I like your description :) Have you ever read Pablo Neruda?

Ah, they've been my favorite band since I was 16, it would be hard to name just one song or album! I can tell you what each song means to me or how it makes me feel. I love everything from them, although their older albums are closer to my heart. Adrenaline is brilliant! I feel their latest albums like one hit, one miss. Saturday night wrist is good, Diamond Eyes is a masterpiece (like White Pony!) and Koi no Yokan kind of disappointed me a little. Be quiet and drive is amazing, definitely one of my all-time favorites. If you start me talking about Deftones, I might never stop, haha. I don't think I could be any more excited about the new album and Eros! Have you ever seen them live? I would love to visit Mexico one day! I understand/speak Spanish but I am so bad at grammar, haha
