well uhm most of the bands you mention are arse-sucking fashioncore bands that have nowt to do with the emo/hardcore scene. as for the San Diego screamo you (or uhm wikipedia) talk about - it isn't the only screamo in the world. when people say screamo they don't necessarily talk about Antioch Arrow (which actually hardly ever really scream) or Swing Kids. pick up Indian Summer, Angel Hair, City of Caterpillar or whatever and you'll find that it's more about build-ups or crescendos than the fast-paced screamy songs. there are loads of different screamo scenes. the reason Engerica fits with the screamo tag is because they fit in the English screamo scene nicely. listen to e.g. Escucha and you'll find they sound quite like Engerica but without the humour and with harder edges. I do agree that they are hard to classify though. they are truly a unique band that could just as easily have been passed off as (regular) emo, punk or even alternative.

I am kind of all over the place at any given moment but my heart belongs to industrial and the many sub-categories that have branched from it.
