Hi, following your youtube videos for quite a while! I'd suggest ripping with dbpoweramp (not free) but easier for tagging, multi disc sets,... As software I use Roon.

Just reading some of the comments on amazon - sounds incredible. One guy insists he never wants to hear the CD's again! That is an amazing thing - hope stew gets. Interestingly it's cheaper to just buy the individual albums at £20 a pop - I guess you don't get the drama. If I had a stereo and turntable I'd be in for that. Going through the remasters chronologically one of my favourite musical experiences. To be able to do that with the definitive cuts...wow....one day

Sticking for broadband, can't see me ever leaving that - best there is. I feel a bit like I've cheated on them, feel a bit dirty. They;ve been spot on, 3 yrs with Tivo has flown by which is testament to the kit. Just feel a change is needed. £25 to retain the broadband. £50 for the Sky - I currently pay £50 quid for M+ package so its aother £25 a month but thats a heck of a lot more tv and on demand for the money. Best of both worlds is how I see it. I don't have any multi room etc to take into account

Not called them yet! Will do tomorrow first thing. Don't want to be convinced to be honest, ready for a change with the TV and the user experience of using Sky is just lot better than Tivo. 3 yrs ago I said that was an advantage they had and in 3 years whilst I like Tivo, Sky have done further work on the EPG and added a lot of the facilities that I like about Tivo - the search for example - but it's more responsive and a slicker experience. They have also got a cracking on demand set up now which they didn't have before.

Yeah must admit I don't really want a dish, no biggie though I guess. Lot more TV channels on sky but with the exception of atlantic they are probably crap. Of course you get the on the go apps meaning you can watch all the sky content, live or on demand on any of your mobile devices. Thing that pisses me off is the whiteness of the menus on Tivo in comparison, the on demand stuff felt a finger tip away on sky, on virgin its all deep in the menus.

No it's advertised on the site if you take any of their 'big bundles'. I'm planning to call to get it added, it's £7 a month for HD (even if you are with sky they charge £5.50 for HD so whilst a pain, a comparable pain). Virgin also now have a deal to get all 5 Sports channels plus Sky Sports HD is finally coming.

yeah I'm just trying the free one. Adverts are not bad, maybe 1 30second per couple of songs its seems. If you were going to take it seriously you would pay the £10. I'd strongly recommend downloading and taking a look, I've been surprised. I'm not in the space of binning off all my music and going purely Spotify yet for sure (although from what I've seen you wouldn't rule it out). To work alongside your existing collection though it seems a fabulous way of discovering new music. Give it an hours of your time, check out some of the playlists, its impressive. 320kbps streaming too.

yeah - seems to say you download a desktop app or app for your phone and you can access your entire drive through that (i.e. it wouldn't show in explorer). Anywhere with wifi or 3G. Was thinking myself you could keep your iTunes library on the laptop maybe and move everything over. Like the idea a lot, looks good. Not that pricey neither.

Have you got a Beatles or Dylan wishlist on your TiVo. If you have and it picked up history detectives today get it watched. Great Dylan feature at the start.

you think they are discontinued or somet? You broached with the management? The more I look the more the price goes up here - decided though, the sound stew achieved is the minimum I want to aim for, in fact I want better!!!! Might mean I have to wait longer but hopefully future proofed then

I would think it's too 'green' just now but maybe a some point - Im not keen - shags your grass and it really is a monster of a pile - its as high as the garage. Hoping to get access to a trailer to tip it at some point. We do have a neighbour that I've not met as yet (behind house but off to right) he has a bonfire every year so I'm hoping he notices the pile and offers to take it off me!

i take it there is no use for conifer branches in a garden? Took a tree down bigger than the house the other week with my uncle - chopped and stored the chunky wood to dry out for a year - should power the wood burner for the majority of next years winter! Got a ton of branch age piled up with no where to go though
