Good job I'm not on Twitter, some of those suggestions are shocking. Nice to see someone recommend the Prunes tho. :-)

track i heard in the 80s incl the lyric "because you are my bastard son". male vocal I think, not aggressive, more like a pete shelley. could have been an acoustic track. i'd have heard it 85/86 - any idea? (it's not the folk devils). Cheers!

What sort of record shop was it? Any chance one of the staff was playing something by a mate? If that's the case then the chances of finding out are gonna be pretty slim mind... :-)

was an indie. yep, could have been anything really. i'm probably resigned to not finding it.

Have you tried checking any facebook groups from the local scene? There's quite a few Newcastle music scene pages I read and there's always someone who can answer any question no matter how obscure. Might be worth a shot. :-)

Hello, I had to leave a message, becuase I noticed me and you are the only people on last.fm who realise that Here & Now did Fantasy Shift, probably my fav by Here & Now. According to last.fm it doesn't exsist, at least someone knows it does :)

Know what you mean;I went overboard on that album too and all the different versions of the singles-went to see them live at Brighton Pressure Point (I'd seen Levitation at the Zap years before),thought they were really good, but on repeated listens realised there was something lacking there....I think they've split now.Didn't Christian Hayes used to be in The Cardiacs-are you into them at all?

pointless_walks
Yeah-totally with you on that one-as I said they blew me away live.Did I mention "Dark Star" a spin off of Levitation? The drummer and guitar/vocalist from Levitation (I temporarily forgot names..Lawrence and Christian,I think).Anyway their debut is very good-not as good as Levitation(Bickers a difficult man to do without),but still a great, soaring piece of work. ;-)

£1.20 more like for that sisters set. Saying that there's always some mug or a chancer trying to get £100 quid for the Chrome Cd Box (which I do still have!). do they get they get it though? That's the question. Anyway when have you EVER sold anything - I bet you don't even chuck out your old Newspapers. Heh Heh... :)

Alas, too much of my music is either in wavs (no tags) or the dreaded unscrobblable vinyl - it's a very skewed list therefore - fwiw "Each Man Kills" is one of my all time favourite albums :)

Well, they used to be No2 until Sparks released their latest and started their suite of playing every album each night live for a month in London. it kind a triggered a Sparks mania the last 30 days! :D But You should check Arvid Yuba out. That's an odd fellow. There ought o be a link at his wiki-page!
