oh shit just saw your message...it was amazing. one of the best times of my life so far. Band of Skulls, Twin Shadow, My Morning Jacket, Arcade Fire, Black Keys and The Strokes were the best performances that I caught all of. I didn't get the chance to see near as many as i would have liked to see due to it being hot as fucking balls

i'm not sure if neon indian constitutes "excellent taste," maybe comparatively excellent taste in relation to southern ohio. do you go to miami currently, or are you one of the happy alumni?

no, i'm too stupid to figure out how to scobble from my iphone. if you hadn't caught the stupid bug and deleted your twitter account you would know that i am still alive. since you can't see what i've been posting, i'll give you a brief summary of my week: dead car, won festival tickets, scrapple, ate bday cake, drunk, drunk, drunk, drunk tweet, corn flakes, toni braxton, travel plans/words with friends/dr who banter, found a puppy, song lyrics, frolicking sheep. you're welcome for the update!

Forsure! They have been a newer band that I have gotten into in the past year or so. Its like everytime I hear one of their jams I like them more and more.

well that's extremely disappointing, i forgot what i said but i know it must have been important. as far as lotus goes, you should start with nomad. it's an incredible album. i've seen bisco a handful of times and, i gotta say, nottttt a big fan. plus i just read an article this morning that makes gutwillig sound like an extreme douche [suspicions confirmed]. i'm going to try to respond to your message properly now.

just curious, but did you ever get my message? sent messages tell me it never existed but i thought i remembered sending it. also also, have you ever listened to lotus?

ahhh double shout, nice. how do you live without going to see music? that's terrible. i wouldn't wish that on anyone. go see a show! and yeah, i desperately wish that damien would put something else out soon; the wait between O and 9 was bad enough but this is just cruel. you may feel free to continue face-dominating my shoutbox unless you want to take this to another level. and by that i of course mean... not last.fm. looks like we have some music swapping to get to.

1. my itunes tells me i have 1.73 gb of his stuff, which means i obviously need more. 2. i started following umphrey's in 2007, and by following i mean using them as an excuse to get out and travel the country. 3. i really like wild nothing. got gemini today. 4. fleetwood mac? damien rice? you rule. 5. you're one comment away from dominating my shoutbox AND being the 100th shout [better get on that before someone steals your chance]. 6. i like numbered lists, but it doesn't look so great or read so efficiently when in paragraph form. :(

i have a pretty stupid obsession with ryan adams (also andrew bird and the kings of convenience while i'm at it). cold roses was like a gateway drug for me. 48 hours is awesome. demolition is awesome. 29 is awesome. i have dreams of one day being like the female version of ryan adams. i doubt there's any way possible i could put out albums like that man though because he's unstoppable. here's my current recommendations for some good recent shows: 2/6/2010 at the tabernacle, 8/7/2010 at stone pony, 8/14/2010 at the masquerade, 7/4/2009 at rothbury, or back to 2/4/2008 at the orange peel (some pre-mantis junk for you). and if you, uh, need help with any of those.... lemmeknow.

i love that you asked that; that's always my response too. considering we're more or less some sort of cosmic fraternal music twins, i think you can suggest just about anything and i'd probably love it (i'm not looking for anything specific, just something new). i dig a jam band every now and again. i could probably recommend a good show to you that would not be too draining. favorite songs would probably have to be hurt bird bath, syncopated strangers, get in the van, kabump, wappy sprayberry, triple wide... i don't know, i could keep going. just depends. sometimes a live version is really awesome but on the album i'd skip it. 1348 is my favorite song on mantis.

i see that you stuck to your word... :) i hardly ever listen to mantis. i usually just stick to soundboards to get my um fix. how could i not like calexico? they practically own my soul. geez. yeah. so. got any recommendations?

ahh. not a member of rate my music, so i dedicate (probably) too much time to this site. have you heard the new tennis album? i'm interested to hear what you think. also, you really didn't like that black keys album "attack and release" that much? shocking... it was a favorite of mine that year.

well, if i could "like" it via facebook somehow, i would. your musical taste, that is. i can't believe you read my journal entry, i thought nobody reads those here?! that's awesome. obviously i've read your lists (who can resist reading a top album list?) and such. see previous shout. also also i like how much you put into your last.fm account (that "about me"? hey-o.) which means that maybe i have finally run across someone who thinks last.fm is as incredible as i think it is. super neat.

Well..cant say I love it. But i dont dislike. Its completely opposite of what their style is. I get a little annoyed when GOOD bands try to 'sample' with a new sound. My favorite songs are Better Than and Zebra. I like One Way Road to an extent. New album just sounds shit compared to the others. Your opinion?

I actually ended up not going. I couldn't get tickets in time but the Deerhunter show was sick! It's just too bad the crowd stood around the entire time. Also, I have a new band you might enjoy, The Golden Filter. Some good dance stuff there.
