Of course it'd be nice if there were the occasional discussion thread, but I created it with little object other than maintaining a public roster of artists who've worked in the sub-(sub-(sub-)) genre and aggregated charts proving a membership of people who actually listened to them. § "I have a Creative Zen player. Not least amongst its many faults is its inability to report plays to Last.fm. Boo. " ...Either you don't know that they can in fact Scrobble, or you broke it.

Hi Jack, I'm going to listen to everything in your 2011 top twenty album and top ten EP list. It's not entirely unfamiliar and a few that you've mentioned that I have heard are in my "Albums I enjoy" folder already. Either way, this should be interesting. What is your Spotify account? Do you have any playlists?

Ha, yeah, my apologies on the lateness. It's been a busy month. Orbital and Hybrid now, too? Christ... Well, there's a 75% chance I'll be studying at Oxford next fall, so if that happens I'll be there for at least a few months and will be able to go to a few events. I definitely hope to move there (or the mainland) eventually, though, after I finish school.

Yeah I hate when that happens. It really bugs me when I listen to GU:009 from Sasha, too. The way he just fades out at the end instead of letting the tracks actually finish. Just my opinion, but I think you limit yourself artistically by not allowing yourself to play tracks again. Obviously my mixes are pretty shit, but I try to keep my mixes to only having a certain percentage of repeated tracks because sometimes a song just fits perfectly into a set or just works perfectly. Shame about the headphones, though. I need to buy a new pair myself, once I get paid.

Ahh that's right, I forgot you bought that. How did you like it? If you have a prog mix recorded, even if you don't decide to share it on TA, I'd love to listen to it. Always enjoy your mixes. That said, I know what you mean about not wanting to share another prog mix. I haven't shared a mix in a while because all I ever do is just the same shit over and over. I've done a couple other mixes (non prog) but they were just so bad I couldn't face sharing them.

Oh god, I know. I had never heard his GU mix before so I downloaded it a few weeks ago and finally got around to listening to it this weekend. I actually really loved the first part. Some really nice stuff in the beginning, but then that transition... Dear lord.. I was both shocked and appalled.

Ha ha, excellent. I'd forgotten about Supreme Clientele, I've read a few people on CMG praising praising that. I've been listening to a couple of things off the list, and the "indescribale noise" predo is pretty accurate.

That's a good point. I've been listening to some Luomo and stuff, too. Yeah - I've been enjoying the list. There's plenty of stuff on there I'll check out. As for predos... Spoon?! I imagine they'll be high up, although maybe not that high. The Blueprint seems a good bet. I'd like it if they put Amnesiac at no.1 to be contrary. You know how it all looks, I assume?

yeah, i gathered that. i know of the guy, and i like alot of his works, both when he used to do mashups and what he is doing now. he was a prominent producer on gybo.org (get your bootleg on) an he introduced his (then) new moniker "dfrnt" by pulling out the remix of dead prez's hiphop and i was a big fan of that and have had a kept an eye on his works since then.

I laughd durin' reading your post, guess why ! i know all of this tracks, and i like all of them, as well. surprised ? don't have to. as i already said i'm enjoying ol' trance and nowaday's trance, especially uplifting. I'm listening to trance music since 2 ½ years now, i like hearing new productions and i like disocvering the genre's past, and i'm sick of all those nowaday's trance bashers, trance nowadays is in the same way „real trance“ as it was back in the days, the style developed, yeah, but that's not only a problem / development within the trance scene. btw. i'm still thinking that your favourite style of progressive is just not my style. otherwise than you i'm not insulting your musical taste at all. I really thought that you are someone i can talk with and learn something about „real trance“, but you'r just another uplifting basher, writing empty phrases. the "things" i learned her about "real trance" could be find within 5 minutes at pages like wikipedia.

well, you are just talking, talking and talking about real trance. show it to me, show me the spirit of trance back in the days, show me a real classic tune, a tune so strong that's it better than everything else, beside this progressive set, you posted here. btw. no, you didn't write the words, but a look behind your shout shows a lot ... ;) "terrible taste", "ignorant", "useless DJs" ... i think i don't need to comment on this phrases ...

no, you accused me of being an idiotic fanboy of today's trance, thinking that that's the one and only way trance runs. that's just not true, me listening to modern trance music (which is still far away from being bad or crap, no matter what you may think) doesn't mean I don't know a shit about other genres or the spirit of trance back in the days. yeah, i like cosmicman, nalin & kane, energy reflect and cosmic baby's music just the same way i like the music of armin, markus schulz, andy blueman and arnej. oh, btw. didn't know that everyone who's listening to trance should like the same artists.

LOL, you accused me wrongly of bashing fans of tiesto, and now you are just doin' the same thing, bashing people liking other tracks than you do. congratulations. popish greetings. i hoped that you could give a "newbie" just like me an image of "real trance", but actually you can't ... sadly.

uh, i'm not that much into this progressive style, and i expected something ... hm, well more enjoyable after reading all your postings 'bout real trance music. don't get me wrong, it's not that bad, it's just not my style. all in all let's say that YOUR idea of real trance music isn't better or worse than mine. uplifting changed during the years yeah, but it's pathetic to call it pop or crap, just because you don't like it. ;)
