Hahaha I can never do a full NBBMN, to be honest I'm sort of slacking. My plan was to listen to at least one BM album i haven't heard before everyday but I'm obviously failing at that. As for BMSR. It'd be cool to go to that especially since it's on a Saturday, yeah. I've been contemplating whether to go or not because although I've listened to a few of their albums, I'm not a big fan (reminds me too much of BoC for some reason). I think I can get my friend to come with me doe

Sorry if I'm stalkin' your profiles hehe but Phil's black metal album you're probably referring to is Mount Eerie's Black Wooden Ceiling Opening. Although his cover of Engel Der Luft on Ocean Roar has a really "black metal" sound (Also my fave track on the new album)

yeah, I don't know how I'll feel after some time. Right now though my favorites are The Whip Hand, Dyslexicon, In Absentia, Molochwalker and Vedama Lady while my least favorites are Lapochka, Imago, and maybe the title track. And those are still really good.

listen 1: in absentia was great. also loved whip hand, vedama lady, everything. trinkets wasn't how I thought it would be, but liked it still. did not like aegis. second listen: on empty vessels right now. everything is so perfect. a second listen is so fresh, all of it is beautiful. this is 5/5 stuff.

yeah it took until the third listen that I remembered there was deantoni instead of thomas and god damn he's spectacular - very minimal at times. This song, it's like the better half of teflon, and teflon was great. Singing along to this song like fuck.

Well, at least people still participate in BM november, even though it's been going down in popularity.

Have any suggestions for Black Metal? I am very, very new to the genre, I have only heard Burzum's Filosofem and Agalloch's The Mantle, although I enjoyed both immensely. I've heard Wolves in the Throne Room thrown around a bit, perhaps I'll check out them. I also plan to download the other Burzum albums, but any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Agreed x10 Juxtaposes really well with Hurt at the end of the album; gives you impression that it really "went" places if you ask me.
