Wave Trap (sometimes also called Trap Wave) is an offshoot of wave music. It has a stronger influence from more conventional trap music. It shares many characteristics with wave, a melancholy atmosphere, a reese bass, trap drums, chopped vocals, etc. It does differ however in the grunge aesthetic associated with the music. Wave Trap is also influenced by genres such a witch house, phonk and even hardwave. Notable producers who could be classified as being wave trap are barnacle boi, Brothel, Darci, BACKWHEN, Xprezzzhatred, Drezzz, iSorin, etc.
