The tag "Canadian" generally suggests music that is performed or written by those of Canadian nationality. Canada is a large country in North America with a population of 38 million, roughly ten-times smaller than its southern neighbors in the United States. Canada's most popular musical exports include rapper Drake (who shares American citizenship), singers Alanis Morrisette, Celine Dion, and the Weeknd, pop stars Justin Bieber and Nelly Furtado (who shares Portuguese citizenship), indie darlings Arcade Fire and Grimes, and bands Rush, The Tragically Hip, and Nickelback. Music of Canada has been largely influenced by its association with the US and Commonwealth Nations such as the UK. Canada also has a significant Jamaican diaspora population - mainly in capital city Toronto and its surrounding areas - which inspired the one-hit wonder Snow with "Informer" along with releases by Drake and other OVO-branded artists.
