Biography
Winter inter takes in an array of sonic influences—everything from G-funk to electronic to the subtly sweet tone of a melting icicle’s drip-drop—and brings them together to create a cohesive sound that escapes the confines of genre altogether.
Released July 17 2014 with Holyfield Records and Stratford Ct. Collective, Winter inter’s debut full-length album Equal Moving Parts is an unquantized sound experience reminiscent of a cool nighttime drive. Wavy, filtered synths and melodies swirl around a nucleus of solid drum and bass patterns while an organic, funk-inspired swing ties it all together. With appearances by fellow San Diego musicians and those from afar, along with the MPC, SP404, microKORG, Fender Rhodes, talk box, and guitar, this album is not a collection of beats. It’s a manifestation of his philosophy to trust in the synchronicity of all parts moving together toward something greater.
Naturally this credo fuels his commitment to San Diego’s creative community. Championing the local art and music culture with old friends and new, he’s helped create events Beats & Brushes and Filter, a new community space for artists called The Church, an up-and-coming label Holyfield Records. These projects are a continuation of his lifelong passion for music and art—and just the beginning of his journey as an equal moving part of the world at large.
