Philippe Deschamps is a French ambient music producer who also composes film music.
On May 24, 2024, he released "What the Sea Promises", his first ambient album on the Mare Nostrum label. The album, inspired by the sea, features fabulous reworks by Le Code, Bahrambient, Stilhed and I0TO.
Ambient music is for him a genre that questions the listener, by inventing unheard of sounds, by creating unreal spaces and temporalities. Inspired by William Basinski and Chihei Hatakeyama, Bahrambient and Stilhed, he seeks to create moments of deep listening conducive to sound meditation, contemplation and dreams.
He collaborated with Center of Attention, Le Code, Relief, and contributed to compilations by Mare Nostrum and Imaginary North.
