Biography

Dávid Oláh alias Zyrit was born 1988, 12th of March in Miskolc, Hungary.

Started learning music at the age of 10 on a casual level, later at age of 14 left music school and went for the "self-teaching" route.
Previous noteworthy appearance in a band was in the four-piece punk-rock band called Standby Gravity which was active between 2008 to late 2015 where Dávid had the role of lead guitarist, backing vocalist and co-songwriter.

The early roots of the Zyrit project can be traced back to 2012 when David started experimenting with 8-bit sounds coming from the influence of retro gaming.

2015 February marks the official start date of working under the Zyrit alias as he released his first album in then titled Pixel-Distortion, which consisted of old song plans accumulated throughout the years.

In the same year Zyrit released 4 EPs and 1 single however due to gaining more experience in recording and mixing he re-released these remastered together with some songs from the first album as one album in 2016 titled Reboot. In 2015 he also participated in the charity compilation album titled Hungarian Synthwave Allstars vol. 1 with a collaboration song with fellow Hungarian artist Gridscape, which was the first significant exposure to a wider audience due to the media coverage the compilation album received.

In 2016 there was another boost in audience reach when Zyrit covered the Megaman 2: Dr. Wily's Castle theme for the international collaboration album titled Mega Man: Robot Masters Resynthesized.

At the end of 2016 he released his technically third but officially second album (due to most of Pixel-Distortion being remastered on Reboot) titled Unkept Promises Cause Unkempt Thoughts. This was a milestone as together with Reboot it was finally featured on most streaming sites like Spotify, Google Music, iTunes etc. making it accessible for more people.

In 2017 there is a 4th album planned and teased on the artists facebook and soundcloud, said to be released around late October or early November, however no official release date has been confirmed yet.
