This is a cover version of a song originally recorded by English alternative rock band Coldplay. Willie Nelson covered “The Scientist” for the soundtrack of Back to the Start, an animated short film about a farmer who turns his small family farm into an industrial animal factory. After a while, he makes up his mind that it is better to go “back to the start” and tears down the factory. The short film, which was sponsored by Chipotle Mexican Grill, highlights the problems of Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations.
