Biography

Twisted Appearance is a five-piece alternative rock/pop-punk band from Karlsruhe, Germany.
Founded in late 2005 by guitarists Benedikt Eisenhardt and Freddy Becker, the band became active in early 2006 with the joining of drummer Pascal Le Comte and bassist Steffen Wolf. Called "Those Without A Plan" at that time, the four young musicians started to play pop-punk music heavily influenced by bands such as Blink-182 and Sum 41. It wasn't until April of the following year that Bene's younger brother Johannes joined the band to take over the main vocals.

Along with renaming the band to "Twisted Appearance" (note that the token "TWAP" which was more popular than the full name remained the same), the music started to develop and changed from rather simple punk melodies to more profound and saturated ones, many people compared the band with "Jimmy Eat World" and "The Cure".

The songs are without exception self-composed, in most cases the lyrics are written by Bene, supplemented by Freddy's basic ideas concerning the melody.

In June 2008, shortly before the departure on lead singer Joe for the US, the band released their first EP called "Lesson One: Listen and Repeat" containing six songs. The success of the EP was remarkable, the five musicians gained the respect of many people from overseas also.

In September 2008, Twisted Appearance changed their outward appearance in a considerable way, having with Evelyn Wettstein join a female singer to fill the open spot that Joe left after his departure.
