"The Sentries, deep down, don’t just wield a razor sharp sound that roars back to the music of the infamous Jamaican dance halls. They aren’t just a band that effortlessly moves crowds everywhere they go, and it would be superficial to describe them as “a ska band from Ottawa, Ontario.”
The Sentries are a musically super powered Mega Man of a band, evolved from decades of combined musical experience, and dozens of performing groups both past and present. Their rock solid foundation is formed from an ever expanding crew of hard working musicians, with ties across all branches of music; Everything from Punk & Hardcore, to A Capella Choir and even modern Minimalist music pieces.
Coming off of a washed out third wave of Ska music, The Sentries are building a new stage to which they invite the world to listen, and dance to their take on the classic sound of Jamaican Jazz and Pop music from the 1960s and 70s. With their busiest year to date still marching on, the imminent release of the Hot Session demo, and the upcoming 3rd anniversary of the Voice Of The People series of Ska focused events, their hard work continues to propel their vision forward and the future looks brighter than ever!"
