Biography
The Porktrashers are one of Canada's hidden rock n' roll gems. Based in Toronto, Canada, The Porktrashers follow in the footsteps of great Canadian indie rock bands such as 54-40, Lowest of the Low, The Tragically Hip, Sloan and Eric's Trip.
After years of playing the bar scene, the band set out to record its debut CD in 2006. Working with famed producer and friend, Gggarth Richardson (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, Hedley, Rise Against), the Porktrashers recorded 12 songs in 4 days at Richardson's Farm Studios in Gibsons, BC. The songs were recorded old school style - live off the floor - to capture that classic garage guitar and drum sound.
With influences as diverse as Spoon, The White Stripes, Dinosaur Jr., REM and the Kinks, "Goes Like This" is a rich collection of garage rock classics mixed with melodic overtones, sweeping harmonies and steady drum grooves.
If you haven't discovered the Porktrashers yet, you're in for a fun musical ride.
