The New Shining is a Dutch rock band based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Named after Stephen King's world-famous novel, 'The Shining', The New Shining was established in 2006 by brothers Xander ('Nax') and Vincent ('Vince') Stok. Bassist Arjan 'R' Nijman completed the line-up, which underwent one change over the years: Vince Stok left the band in 2012, Roel van der Sluis replaced him.
