The Insteps were an American ska band based out of New York City. They had a brief career in the mid 1990's and produced only one album "Eleven Steps To Power." That album featured Jamaican toaster King Stitt on two tracks. Their membership included singers Noah Roy and Peter Loshak, guitarist Dave Hahn, trombonist Dave Nelson, saxophonist Keith Crockett, trumpeter Justin Decamp, keyboardist Dave Stone, bassist Sheldon Gregg and drummer Eddie Ocampo. They drew from Jamaican ska and rocksteady influences such as Toots & the Maytals. Also drawing from reggae and dub artists as well such as King Stitt. Despite drawing immediate praise they ended quickly due to internal personality differences.
