The Bads are Brett Adams and Dianne Swann. They play their own take on alt-country, country rock, folk pop, or call it whatever you will. The Bads were formed after Brett and Dianne returned to New Zealand after spending years in London.
In London they formed The Julie Dolphin with Geoff Hayden and Nick Yeatmen, and released an Ep and Album (Lit) to critical acclaim and toured the UK with the likes of Radiohead, and played with Oasis, Green Day, and many others. They went on to form Boom Boom Mancini and signed to Almo Sounds, and were the UK label mates of Gillian Welsh, Garbage, Ozomatli, and Imogen Heap. Almo decided to close the company before they could release the album they had completed, and eventually they broke up the band and in 2002 moved back to New Zealand. In 2005 they quietly released the album 'Earth from Space' and are soon to release the album 'So Alive'.
