“All I Need to Hear” is the fourth single from The 1975’s studio album ”Being Funny in a Foreign Language”.

Matty Healy confirmed in a cover story for Pitchfork that the goal when creating the track was to make something that “sounds like a cover”.

“As a joke, George was like, ‘I don’t think you fuckin’ wrote that.’ It’s my favorite thing he’s ever said to me.”

“All I Need to Hear” was recorded in one-take, and is a piano ballad. A stripped down, acoustic version of the song was originally performed on 22nd October 2021 by Matty Healy, during a surprise set at Phoebe Bridgers' “Reunion Tour”.

At the time, “All I Need to Hear” was untitled, with the name of the track being revealed during the announcement of the band’s next studio album “Being Funny in a Foreign Language”.
