Biography

Tetsu Inoue is a producer of electronic music. He has lived in Japan, San Francisco, and New York. He has collaborated with musicians such as Pete Namlook, Bill Laswell, Jonah Sharp, and Taylor Deupree.

His debut solo album, Ambiant Otaku, is regarded by many as a classic of minimalist ambient techno and was initially released in a limited edition of 1000 copies on Pete Namlook’s Fax Label. It was later re-released, but even the re-release is very hard to find, often fetching high prices on eBay.

Also recorded under the aliases Ambiant Otaku and Organic Cloud (note: do NOT merge those artists here) and performed in the groups Electro Harmonix, 62 Eulengasse, 2350 Broadway, Hat, Masters of Psychedelic Ambiance and Shades of Orion.

Nice to see Inland getting reissued, but sad that there's been no sight of any new works since it was released in -07... did he stop making music for the real?

Also Coil's Time Machines and Jacob Kirkegaard's 4 Rooms if you feel like taking it to the extreme.

@Alexatedogshit try Tangerine Dream's Zeit, Klaus Schulze's Cyborg, Steve Hillage's Rainbow Dome Musick, Eno's Discreet Music and Sleep Research Facility's Nostromo.

Well, Ambient World rereleased Datacide II in 2010 but I think he did nothing new with that.

Any news? It's been awfully quiet from Mr Inoue for some time. Since Inland (2007), I believe. I hope he is all right.

Really enjoyed his work w/ Bill Laswell (Cymatic Scan)...any recommendations regarding more material by Tetsu Inoue in that direction (if any)?

@dukon , thanks for the recommendation, But I already love that album. Brian Williams and Robert Rich are two men you don't wanna fuck with.
