Tate first debuted this piece on her YouTube Live on September 17, 2020, titled 'singing some unreleased songs for u guys'.
"There’s this one song that I’m actually really excited about and I really hope I release it. ‘Cause, I have a lot of songs that I like, work on and I don’t release, and I’ve had this in my back pocket for a while."
At the time, neither Tate nor her fans knew that she would be including this song as the second track on her EP, that is now professionally released and titled TOO YOUNG TO BE SAD. This piece will be featured on the album alongside her hit single "you broke me first" which got McRae her first entry into the Billboard Hot 100.
