Sonny Moore (aka Skrillex as electro/dubstep DJ, known as simply Sonny for prior solo work) is an American vocalist and multi-instrumentalist. He was best known for his position as lead vocalist for the post-hardcore band From First To Last but is currently active as Skrillex.

Sonny joined From First to Last at age 16 and was previously in a band called At Risk, which he formed at age 12. He learned that he was adopted when he was 15-years-old, just before he joined From First to Last, which became a main inspiration for several songs on the band’s second full-length album, Heroine. On February 26, 2007, the band announced that Sonny had left the band in order to pursue a solo electronic/alternative career. After months of releasing demos via MySpace, Sonny played on the Team Sleep Tour with a full band. The tour also featured supporting acts Monster in the Machine and Strata. Moore made several demo CDs available on this tour, limited to about 30 per show. These CDs were tour exclusive, and were packaged in “baby blue envelopes”, each with a unique drawing by Moore or bandmate. He also joined the AP Tour with a band that consisted of Chris Null (guitar, ex-Rooms), Aaron Rothe (keys, ex-Drop Dead, Gorgeous), and Sean Friday (drums, ex-Rooms). With this lineup they went by “Sonny and the Blood Monkeys.
