Biography
Mel and Nic canoed across the Tasman in the late hours of the twentieth century, using their guitars as paddles and singing to the stars. And so…'sistermadly' was born !.
After carving a niche in the Australian music scene as songwriters and performers, the girls signed a deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing in Sydney, where they took up residence.
As a result, their debut EP 'Zephyrtown', engineered and co-produced by Wayne Connelly (You Am I, Youth Group, The Vines, Josh Pyke) was released on Rubber Records in 1999.
Australian film and television productions sourced 'Zephyrtown’s' rich musical content to feature in the films 'Occasional Course Language' and 'Looking for Alibrandi'. Their songs featured on Australian TV Networks, Nine, Seven and The ABC.
